SOLVED - BED THERMAL RUNAWAY at 90C

Hello,

I have the model MK3 / 2S with the latest update 3.1.0.

I can print in PLA without problem. If I print in PET, the bed temperature rises to 90C and when printing starts, the bed temperature slowly starts to drop to 80C and I get the BED THERMAL RUNAWAY error.

I did some tests during the printing. Before the error arrives, I pause the printer and preheat the PET hardware. The bed temperature rises to 90C and I continue to print. The temperature drops to 80C and I receive the error.

I checked the connections of the bed and those in the main panel and everything seems to connect well. I checked the temperature probe under the bed and it stick well under the bed.

I checked the voltage and here is what I get:
PSU 12v
Heatbed 11.6v
4.9v Thermistor

Do you think the thermistor would be defective?

Thank you for your help!

ok i found the problem.

The part to be printed is mainly in the center of the bed and the temperature gauge is also in the center of the bed. At the beginning of the print, the fan cools the bed too much and lowers the temperature.

I moved the part to print on one side of the bed and everything is printing fine.

Thanks to the technical support.

I just encountered this problem and wanted to say the solution of moving my small part out the middle solved my problem also. I was going down the rabbit hole of the other thermal runaway problems/solutions. Thanks to the OP for saving my sanity
