How to replace cartridge heater?

While trying to fix my printer the wires disconnected from the cartridge heater. I'm assuming this can't be fixed with solder or something so I'm going to replace it.

Just wondering what the specs are on the heater. Would something like this work for a Prusa?

Re: How to replace cartridge heater?

E3D v6 Hotend uses a 30 watt heater cartridge.

If you're logged in when you browse the store, Prusa sells spare parts including a 40W heater cartridge.

Joe is absolutely correct, I don't see the 30W heater listed on the Prusa store.

I went directly to the E3D website as Prusa still advertises "genuine E3D V6 Full hotend" with it's MK2S printers.

E3D also sells the 40W heater, but when you look at the page for the V6 hotend it shows the 30W heater. Now I'm curious whether my MK2S has the 30W or 40W heater in it.

It would be nice if Prusa had a listing of exact replacement parts for its growing list of printer models. What's the difference in parts between the Mk2 / Mk2S / MK3 (and multi-material variants of each). ❓

Re: How to replace cartridge heater?

And another question : how to remove the cartridge ?
The support has a lot of pla on it and it looks difficult to remove the small screw with the key...
Idea, anyone ? 🙂
