Can't find what hardware is needed for a MK2 to 2s upgrade

Hi everyone

Recently I brought a second Mk2 from a friend and have begun to print some upgrades for it,

I am looking to make it a Mk2s but as the kit is no longer sold I cannot seem to find what hardware is required for the new extruder assembly to be put together,

looking everywhere there is no mention of the included hardware and I don't have any of the documents from the 2s kit I brought for my first printer some time ago

Thanks

Let's have a look there:

https://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts/

There is the upgrade you are looking for: "Original Prusa i3 MK2  MK2S upgrade"

Best regards, Clemens

@clemens-m those are the printable parts, @aston-c is trying to find the hardware (MK52 bed, noctura fan, filament sensor, bondtech extruder gears...).  This: https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/upgrades/179-original-prusa-i3-mk2s-to-mk25s-upgrade-kit.html

I'm in the same boat, having a MK2 (not S), and chomping at the bit to get upgrades to not be left behind.  And I hate to say it, but Aliexpress has kits.  Not official, definitely not supported, and could cause problems.  But at the same time, it may be months before it's available in the Prusa Shop again.

The main parts for a Mk2S upgrade were new smooth rods, new bearings and U bolts for the Y frame.

Plus  updated printed parts which you can print, and a long screw for the cable management on the rear of the extruder, plus, I think a couple of nuts as well...

the bulk of the parts are available on Prusa. eShop. As above    U bolts may be available  for Haribo/Zaribo/Bear suppliers and should be available on Ali Express.   Smooth rods and bearings are probably available on Ali express, but you would probably be better keeping the Prusa Rods than buying unknown quality chinese rods and bearings...   I never upgraded to Mk2S but I also lubed my linear bearings, during assembly.  I have no idea what state your rods and bearings are in... mine are good! 🙂

Some folk prefer to get Misumi linear parts, or Haribo/Zaribo/Bear parts.

Others prefer Drylin parts. if you go this route, make sure you get the correct bearings and the matching rods...   Igus/Drylin bearings are not good on stainless smooth rods...

Thanks for the responses everyone,

I am just after the list of hardware excluding basically for the extruder as I have printed those bits because I prefer the cable management and the way the pinda is mounted more securely

The mk2 I picked up hasn't had much use so the rods and bearings will be fine, I went down the rabbit hole of rod and bearing alternatives but seemed to find each option had its downside..
from memory, there weren't many extra screws and as you have mentioned Joan it might just be the long screw for the cable management

It drove me a little crazy when I did a waybackmachine search for the mk2s kit page and it lists hardware as assorted haha
Worst case I will disassemble my Mk2s! opportunity to give it a little maintenance too

Thanks
Asto
