Cable connectivity problem
I recently had to take apart my printer. After putting it all back together and turning it on, I noticed that the SD card would no longer read and the knob rotation wasn't working (push button was working fine). I immediately thought that the problem might be an issue with the cable itself, so I took off the cable and did continuity testing for each of the leads, but the cabling was fine. However, when I did continuity testing with the cable plugged in, none of the lower lines (on the other side of the key) were working! Looking at the traces and the lower ones went to the SD card and the knob rotation. Once I took the cable off, I noticed that the male connectors on the LCD side were much shorter on the lower side. Is this normal? I'm attaching a picture, but it really doesn't do justice to how different the lengths of the male connectors are. Would it be safe to just try to push the plastic housing down? Not really sure what to do at this point.

This black parts has on every corner some kind of foot. This should be down to the PCB on both connectors. If you push it down carefully everything should be ok. Have in mind that each cable can be connected to both of the connectors on the PCB, but only one of both variants will work. Maybe you did some marking on the cables and connectors.
Good thing is, nothing will be destroyed when connecting in the wrong direction, only LCD stays black and nothing is working.
