Upgrading the MK2 to Mk2.5

Hello, I have the MK2 and purchased the MK2s and MK2.5 upgrades. I received the parts and am a little confused about what I should print to complete the upgrade all the way to MK2.5 to use the flex plate bed.
The MK2s kit has a spool of orange PEGT and a list of parts to print, the MK2.5 has a spool of black PEGT and a list of parts to print.
Items like the X-body are on both lists as are other parts, but they are different designs.
Has anyone else jumped for the MK2 straight to the MK2.5 and just skipped the MK2s parts?, I don't want to print unneeded parts and I also don't want to not print something and have the machine torn apart and not be able to make the necessary missing part.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

Re: Upgrading the MK2 to Mk2.5

Hi mark.
You will needall of the mk2.5 parts
Then i suggest that you read through both upgrades

And see what is different.

I missed the mk2s upgrade so will go straight to mk2.5...

I suspect there is little or none of the mk2plastics needed. To go to mk2.5

You dont need the mk2s extruder or x carriage

Do you know anyone else with a 3d printer who could help if you forget to print a part?

Worst case. You can buy parts direct from prusa.

Hi Joan, first thanks for the quick reply. I have read a few posts and see you provide a lot of help.
I had printed the MK2s X-body first and then discovered the MK2.5 one was very different, that's what got me looking.

I'll go ahead and jump to the 2.5 kit and I didn't even think about a friend with a printer!! (face palm)

Thanks, Mark

Re: Upgrading the MK2 to Mk2.5

I have the KM2-S and would like to upgrade to the MK2.5 and then to the MMU.
I have heard that both of these upgrades are going through some design changes. I think is sounds like it would be better to wait until they are upgraded before ordering them.
Any thoughts?
If you currently have the MK2.5 upgrade - what are your impressions?

Re: Upgrading the MK2 to Mk2.5

Hi Joe.

It was my original intention to upgrade my mk2mmu to mk2.5 with mmu

Because my mmu was giving problems

After ordering the upgrades. Prusa sent me some mew parts for the mmuv1
And its working again. So the 2.5 upgrade is waiting till i build my other mk2...
And i will build that straight as a mk2.5.. unless I get another einsy.
And build a mk 2.8... i like the quieter mk3

Not as intrusive at night.

Joan -
Does the MK2.5 upgrade work on the MK2s ? Or is it just for the MK2 ?
I have the MK2s - Do I need to do the MK2.5 upgrade before I can add the MMU ?

Re: Upgrading the MK2 to Mk2.5

Hi Joe, the Mk2s was largely the Mk2 with better smooth rods, better LM8uu bearings and revisions to the cable management on the back of the extruder carriage... I think there was a new Rambo case too...

so they were very similar... the Mk2.5 will update either the Mk2 or the Mk2s
if you are doing both the Mk2s upgrade to get the improved bearings & rods, and the Mk2.5 upgrade to get the removeable heatbed and the Bondtech extruder, then there is no point printing out the mk2S extruder housing, because it's immediately replaced by the Mk3 extruder housing.

you need the Mk2.5 or Mk3, to go with MMUv2
