Prusa Label .2mm to low

Hi,

Can anyone help with this problem. Just had to replace my nozel because of jamming. Did first layer cal. Then printed the sample gcode

from SD card. Have printed this before(3 years ago) when i first got the printer and it printed it out at 2.9mm.

Checked filament feed and i am getting 97mm for a setting of 100mm.

Any help would be appreciated

Kindest Regards

Les barwick.

P.S this my first problem in 3 years of operation.

Sorry - I don't understand your problem. Can you describe it a little bit more in detail. Also a picture can help.

Best regards, Clemens

Hi Clemens,

Thanks for replying. Sorry for bad description. What i meant was the height of the Prusa label printed from the code supplied

was 2.7mm. The original one i printed 3 years ago was 2.9mm, when slicing it shows it should be 2.95

I have since done another first layer cal and my height is now 2.9mm. So i think that should be close enough.

I could increase the flow multiplier in the slicer but originally i did not have to do that.

Thanks

Kindest Regards.

Les

After a long standing time it can never hurt to recalibrate the axes and the extruder.
How to calibrate the extruder is well described here:

One question: I own 2 original Prusa Printers a MK2.5S and a Mini - but I never did a Extruder calibration - does it make sense doing that.

I built a printer by my own - very close to a Prusa i3 MK2S and used an Arduino Mega 2560 with Ramps 1.6 - reason was to find out if I am able to configure a firmware for the printer by my own. And there I had to do an extruder calibration - so I know how to do it.

Does it make sense or is the Prusa setup accurate enough? Looking at my prints I woud say it is o.k.

Best regards, Clemens

@clemens-m

I would perform an extruder calibration at least once to ensure that mechanical errors are eliminated. The remaining settings can be adjusted in the slicer. Likewise a LA and temperature (PID) calibration is not wrong.
The calibration procedures do not take too much time. Whether it is necessary or not, I cannot answer in general terms.
