Burned out RAMBO Heatbed connector
So after printing a lot of ABS lately, for a project I'm designing, I lost all function of the heatbed.
I opened the rambo case, and the connectors on the heatbed, and got 0v DC on the powerconnectors.
I then noticed the connector on the RAMBO side was weldes shut after melting.
I was able to pry it out and use a small flathead screwdriver to remove all the brittle plastic that had melted.
After scratching off the soot on the connectors and putting them back, the heatbed works again.
The issue is now the connector is very loose, and I'm a fraid that if there is a woorse than ok connection, then small sparks can produce heat, and it will melt again.
I ordered my printer 'Order Placed on 02/09/2017 18:10:44', and I'm wondering if it's under warranty.
Idealy the rambo and the connector for the heatbes should be replaced.

In general you can replace the connector. It's not visible if any connections on the board are damaged. This is something you can/should check while resoldering. Usually there is no harm to the board itself. In addition I would replace the heat bed cable. Most likely you have a shortage somewhere. Either find it or just replace the cable.

I will get some new connectors and se if I can get it working safely.
Btw, do you or anyone know the name of that type of connector. Then I could just order some and swap them out without hawing to change anything else.

Previously asked and answered. It's a MOLEX connector and if you search the forum with the word MOLEX, some kind sould have attached links to suppliers websites.
I don't know where you are located so can't suggest a source for you.

Same happened to me last night. I was able to remove the connector and replace it.
The reason why it happened, is because the connector wasn't perfectly inside the housing. It was slightly bend because of the short cable guide.
A new lesson learned, made it better and printing again 🙂
