Re: On The Way

For what it's worth, my MK2>MK2S and MK2S>MK2.5 kits arrived today from an October 19 order. Nothing really to report though, I started the upgrade but had to give in for the night after getting the extruder built but before replacing the Rambo cover and wiring everything up. Everything in the install is going smoothly though, other than two minor things. One, an issue identifying the right side up for the Y carriage (my prebuilt printer didn't have any identifying marks, but I figured it out). Two, I snapped the idler plastic piece trying to slide the shaft into it. It's still working well enough to get my printer going but a replacement is going to be the first thing I print.

I had ordered both upgrades with black filament. So I was a little surprised to find that I had black PETG and unlabeled orange filament (presumably also PETG) in the box. Not sure if that was intentional, or just a minor slipup (though for what it's worth my original MK2 order didn't actually come with the color of filament I had selected either).

Re: On The Way

They don't seem to shipping them out in any certain order. I see people saying they ordered in January and it's being shipped while others who ordered in November/December are still on backorder.

You mean MK2.5 upgrades? Or the MK3 kit/upgrade? There is an online shipping schedule for those, but I cannot find one for the MK2.5 upgrade.

The MK2.5 upgrade specifically. I was told in an email that I received 9 days ago..."We just started to ship the MK2.5 upgrades. The shipping table currently only states shipping times for MK3. Soon, we will make a list for the MK2.5 upgrades." They also stated in the email that, "Since you ordered in November, your order should ship before the end of this month."

I'm worndering in which order Prusa is going through the orders. It does not appear to be chronologically. I ordered on the 19th October and my order has not yet been shipped.

Depends how many of they got that day. it could take 1-2 weeks to ship them all just for the 19th far as we know. the first few days of the pre-order might be the heaviest. no idea. they said they have a lot tho.

Re: On The Way

I ordered mine October 18th and it was shipped March 11th (I didn't order a Mk3). Definitely worth the upgrade; I'm loving the new bed, extruder, and fan. It looks like they're adding in a idle timeout for the heaters, which is good because I've already accidentally left my hotend on for a few hours after unloading filament. The old fan's noise usually gave me a reminder to double check. 😳

I'm hoping for a real firmware release soon, though. I'm using a PT100 for the hotend and I did the Haribo upgrade so I needed to modify the firmware. Their new release flags in the firmware gave me some trouble because in the source it's flagged as an unknown build so a message pops up when the printer starts (or when Octoprint connects) that you have to click through on the LCD. I was able to disable that, but I still can't figure out why it won't print unless debug mode is enabled (doing any kind of manual moves over the serial connection also puts the printer into "STOPPED" mode and I have to reset it).

Besides that, it's printing great with linear advance enabled, even printing from Octoprint and 150 mm/s infill speeds. As I'm writing this I'm two hours into a print using eSun translucent orange PETG and realized I didn't disable the filament runout sensor, so far I haven't had any false alarms...

Ok, this is starting to seem that something is wrong. Seems to me that its not going chronological, and that seems pretty unfair to everyone.

I placed two orders on 25th they are 69900 and 69923 seconds apart, and 22 orders between them...

might be some time clearing the backlog!

Re: On The Way

in excess of 2300 orders between 19th and 25th October (no idea what the orders were for... probably upgrades in the main, as that was the main thing going on at that time!)
