I am having the same problem. What did you make the shims from and how have you attached the shims to the carriage endstop ?

i can't see how shimming wouldn't affect calibration slightly. mine hits the switch fine, it's always been very close. it's maybe 1/2 mm off but the motor just pulls it to the switch, there isn't much resistance anyway. it usually just hit the ramps case, not the frame.

I got the same problem and found the root cause, thus sharing in case it helps you, as I believe that adding shim is not a good idea with regards to the calibration:

1. check The noctua fan and extruder motor cables are correctly installed inside the print part area, there is an internal space for them.
once fix they cannot touch the frame at all.

2. check the nozzle cable is correctly fix below all the others cable when put in the cable wrap.

having the same issue.
it feels like the X isn't able to move further left. Even with pushing by hand I feel increased resistence, but I can't see anything causing it.

My rude solution was to glue a tiny 2mm pice of plastik to the x-carrage.
Not a nice solution but I don't need "that space" for printing.

I had the same problem. To get past the problem, I used SciGrip #3 to weld a small PETG shim onto the part of the X carriage that is supposed to trip the endstop switch. Calibration was successful and prints are running.

I'm sure this was an issue with my assembly, but I'm not sure what I did wrong. Without a shim, the cable guide coming off the back of the carriage hits the frame well before the X carriage end-stop part, so I'm not sure what I did incorrectly to be so far off. But I do know that I don't want to go through extruder assembly again to find out :D.

I would like to note that the MK2.5 "X-carriage-back" has an offset location for the wiring exit compared the the MK3 version

david.b69 is right, I had the same problem, I've reset the extruder cable in the print channel (slot left corner of the extruder fan) and now my extruder is able to touch the endstop.

Same here.. I had a filament break on unload and had to pull apart the extruder to fix it. After that, it just didn't want to hit the X endstop any more. Even manually moving it over and pushing didn't cause it to hit. 

In the end, it turned out the side fan screws needed another turn or 2 and its wires needed to be tucked into the printed channel. After that, it's all homey again.

No Place For Endstop

I have the MK2.5S that I am upgrading with the BondTech/ Mosquito upgrade.  There is no endstop included and no place to mount it if it were as far as I can see.

Anyone get this figured out?

There is a different x-carriage front plate to use that includes the endstop plastic.  I found it on the Bondtech Website on the product page and resources tab.  Hope this helps someone else in the future.
