Simple Funnel Crashes Everytime

I created a very simple funnel in OpenSCAD (exported STL for reference). I have tried to print this in PETG at both 0.2mm and 0.3mm layer height. I print it by uploading it to Octoprint (on a Pi 4) and print. At about the halfway point the printer starts crashing, trying to restart and finally I stop it. I've tried with 2 different PETG filaments, no joy.

I cleaned and lubed all 3 axis, it still failed. I then sliced it in vase mode and it printed fine. I also printed Benchy in the midst of all of this just to convince myself the printer was functioning properly. I tried this at two different angles on the cone part of the funnel (30 & 45 degrees).

I'm stumped.

File

Upload a #MF and I will try to print it with PETG.

You will need to zip the file.

Zip together your .scad file and a .3mf of your project and post it here, not Google.

That way we can check your print settings and the OpenSCAD for design constraints.

Worked for me!

Hi,
I took your STL,
loaded it into Prusa Slicer and noted that the elephant's foot Compensation made the first layer very thin, so I turned it off,
to improve heatbed bonding.
And I reduced retraction to 0.4mm, because I feel that 0.8mm is a bit excessive.

and this printed first time, in Prusa PETG (Carmine Red)

Thank You!

I was just using the default settings with Generic PETG. Thanks for the extra settings, I'll give it a try.

The default settings, as @joantabb observed, do make thin footprints even thinner so consequent lifting is likely to cause crashes.

Your OpenSCAD is fine. To make it easer to slice for printing you could have allowed another millimeter of thickness at the plate...

On a practical design note: a longer, very slightly tapered 'neck' would help to prevent tipping when loaded and retraction jamming if a tight fit.

Setting Changes Worked

I made the changes recommended by @joantabb and it printed fine. I also made the design changes @diem recommended, thank everyone for your help!

Success!
And on to the next project!
