Replacement encoder with flat legs
Hi,
The rotary encoder on my mini is giving up the ghost. It's way past warrantee. I'm decent enough at soldering to have a whack at replacing it but can anyone recommend where I can get hold of an encoder with flattened feet that can be soldered surface mount like that?
All I can find is through hole ones.

You could try github, there should be a listing of the encoder used that may help.

Alas I can't find it on the BOM or elsewhere on the Github, as it seems bo be considered part of the display unit which you're expected to buy, as far as I can tell.
