Nozzle temperature drop on second layer

I have the nozzle temperature set to be the same for both first and the other layers (e.g. 215 °C), when the printer starts doing the second layer, the part fan starts and the nozzle temp drops to ~209 °C, before going back up to 215 °C in couple of seconds.

Being an absolute beginner, I just wanted to ask if this is normal?

This is a normal reaction when air suddenly flows onto the nozzle. As long as the nozzle is not cooled down too much, nothing else happens. In case of a "thermal runaway" you have to reduce the fan speed or use a silicone sock.

@karl-herbert

Brilliant, thank you. It doesn't seem to have any impact on the print, so it must be fine. I had the clicking extruder + underextrusion problem on the second day of printing (all is fine since I adjusted the heaterblock) and with Mini being my first printer I guess I'm just looking for problems now. 🙂

Check in slicer settings, first layer usually prints with slightly higher temperature.
