Noisy print fan on startup, not during operation or when detached

A little over a week after receiving the Mini+ (earlier this month), the print fan started making this rattling noise when it spins up when turning the printer on. Later during normal operation this sound never returns.

The startup rattling noise only occurs when the fan is attached - when I detach it the noise isn't there at all, so I think it's not a faulty fan but rather how it is attached to the print head. Are there others with the same experience and a good solution to the problem?

Noisy fan

I had a fan on mini that was noisy.  I had to replace it.  I would start by replacing it to see if that fixes it.  If it is a new fan, contact support.

I have a spare

I ordered spare fans from experience with other printers, that most fans break earlier than you want or hope.

I was thinking of switching the fan out for the new one, but since I noticed it only makes the rattling noise when attached I wanted to make sure I didn't have to do the whole procedure unnecessarily.

I guess I'll just jump in and test if the new fan works better.

fragile

Yes, in particular, the blower or part cooling fan is fragile where the wires are soldered.

Switched

So, switched the fan out for the new one that didn't make the noise when attached. I hope it lasts longer than the previous.

Fans

Be careful.  Hitting the blades with tools can damage and induce noise.
