[MINI] Nozzle leaking

I’m running the first layer calibration and am noticing something very frustrating.

When the hotend is being heated (using PLA, 215°C), the filament tends to leak from the nozzle and clings onto it. I have to constantly remove it with pliers. I’ve run many purges and it still continues.

What is causing this?

On my non prusa printer it does too. I usually have to heat the noozle and take it away via some wooksticks. But I recently changed in Cura to clean it over the bed before going to printing (add gcode before the printing). Basically it makes a 2cm line outside the first layer before going to the first layer area..

It's caused by melted filament and gravity, I'd say?

Not sure what slicer you are using, but for MINI profile, Prusa Slicer puts starter G-code that heats the nozzle to 170 degrees and then does probing. After probing, it heats to desired temperature. This prevents leaving mess allover bed when preparing to print. Priming line outside print area is part of starter G-code too. If you use Prusa Slicer and don't have this, you may want to add a profile for your printer. If you use other slicer, you may want to make your own starter G-code with similar settings.

Have you solved this problem or figured out why this happens? I have this problem too and not sure what to do with it.

Molten, and therefore liquid, plastic tends to flow.  However, most slicers have a spot where they do an initial purge to take care of this.

Where are you getting your gcode?  All my printers exhibit the behavior you call leaking, it's just molten plastic being drawn down by gravity.  If you're using Prusa Slicer your nozzle should be doing a purge outside the print area to clean off any blobs and insure the nozzle has no air in it.  It should also draw a fence around your printed object so that by the time you actually print the object the nozzle is cleaned and primed.
