Firmware Update 4.1.0

Updated to the new firmware today, just happened to login the same day it released. Lots of nice changes, but one thing I would like to see reverted is the screen timeout. When in a menu, if there is inactivity for 30 seconds or so, it will automatically bounce back to the home page. This is a pain sometimes. My primary example would be when performing a cold-pull. You need to run the hotend temp up to 275 C then perform a cooldown. You need to push the filament in until the hotend reaches about 170 C, then pull the filament out around 90 C. When the screen bounces you back to the home screen, you have to scroll back to calibration>temperature>hotend again multiple times. Any way to stop the screen timeout short of rolling back to firmware 4.05?

Why not just write some gcode to go through the heating steps for your cold pull ?  That way you can just 'print' the file and it would heat, cool etc to the temps specified in the gcode.

I've considered that, but my ability to write code basically relies on Google searches. Modifying single lines is one thing, writing a program is another

It should only be a few lines needed.

Ok, what temperatures do you need to it go through and how high do you want the extruder to be ?  I'll do one for you.

Id say, home axis, move extruder to roughly middle of the bed and raise to about 100mm high ? then thermal cycle would be heat to 270, wait for temp to be reached.  Set target temp back to 90.  ?  That should allow you to do the cold pull as you should be able to monitor the current temp on the front screen shouldn't you.

Got 2 options after that, I could add in a fixed time where it pauses at 90 degrees and then cools to zero and ends the 'print' or you could stop it by using the menu to stop the print.  What would you prefer ?

If I were writing a program, I'd have it initiate by moving X axis to home and Z axis to a reasonable working height, then running hotend up to 270. Once it hits setpoint, I'd have it beep, as user input is required at that point. User could then click the button, and hotend temp would cool to 90, beeping at 170 degrees. Once 90 degrees is reached, have printer beep again. User click wheel again and have the option to perform again or finished, in which case printer would either loop back to the start of the sequence, or cool to normal.

Basically a maintenance routine that more or less does the cold pull procedure outlined here:
