Change filament in the middle of a print

Hey,

my Mini finally arrived and I am doing my 3rd print. Since I only have the sample filament that came with the printer, the black one ran out mid print. The filament sensor did see that and paused. However the filament change did not work correctly. I got the leftovers of the first one out and loaded the 2nd filament sample. It tells me it is loaded and it tried to continue printing but it only got in half way and the printer is not pulling in more filament. I paused the print and try to initiate another filament change in the settings but pressing "Change Filament" does not do anything.

Is there any way I can change the filament and continue the print? Since it tried to print without filament there might be a small gap though.

Since the filament wasn't loaded completely I could also just pull it out. The print could still be continued without any filament loaded. Why isn't the filament sensor not detecting that? I still cannot start the "Change Filament" option in the settings during a paused print.

Since I didn't want to keep the printer running idle for so long I stopped the print. Afterwards there were no problems loading new filament. However if someone knows what the problem was I would still like trying to solve that since changing an empty filament roll mid print is probably something I will encounter once in a while and this was the whole reason for me to purchase the sensor.

I have this same problem - it is so frustrating. There is no way to load the filament since it give you one chance to get it right. During that one chance it does not load it all the way and begging purging when the filament is far away then it asks only once if it is the right color and  will just start printing with no color in the nozzle.
