Bed sheet compatibility vs mk3s and mini

I understod the max. build sice ist 18² vs 21² cm.

But is the steel sheet build plate smaler, or uses it the same sice as the mk3s?

Ordered one mini with both sheets, but would be lovely if they fit on the mk3s too i have. if not, then i have to purchase seperatly one for the mk3

thanks!

They're different. You can see the labeling in the videos.

Concur.  Definitely smaller and will not fit the MK3S.

Hopefully  spare bed sheets will be available for sale soon after launch.

That and replacement parts.  I would start printing a few replacements when available.

It's be nice if the MINI sheets fit onto the 3S, so you could use the smaller sheets in a pinch. As long as you didn't need to print anything too big...

As long as you placed your part accordingly in your slicer you could use a mini sheet.  As they are held on with magnets you can use ANY steel sheet with any surface you want.  Just make sure you leave a overhang so you can remove it as once down the magnets are very good 🙂

Won't mesh bed leveling be screwed up if there's no steel sheet above any of the test points?

You know I hadnt thought of that.  Damn.    Wonder if 18x18 is enough to cover the 3x3 mesh points.

Yes it would.  It will take some altered mechanisms or technology to avoid that.

You can very likely put the mk3 plate on the mini. Putting the mini sheet on the mk3 only requires a pause after it levels and does the purge line.

@phr0ze

This would surprise me.  I cannot imagine they are compatible.

Surely a Mk3 sheet would be too wide for a Mini and collide with the frame and control panel, also the cutouts on the back are different so it could not be located securely.

I agree and suspect you are correct.  The Mini sheet would also be too small to mesh level

I reviewed all the pictures I took of the mini. A sheet can easily hang to the left and front. Cutouts don't really matter, you could even face the cutouts forward or on the left.

@charles-h13

As I suspected. Mk3 sheet fits fine.

That is not a “fits fine”.

It is however fine if you already have a bunch of mk3 sheets 🙂
