modeling software ???

hello I am curious what software everyone is using to model printable objects ? I was using fusion 360 but apparently they removed the home hobbyist version and I will not pay $500.00 a year for something I use once in a blue moon.

any idea's or help would be greatly appreciated

RE: modeling software ???

Hi @shwagiedo,

I renewed my personal license a few days ago, Fusion360 free has now some limitations compared to the full version, but not a big deal for me.

You can find it here.

MK3s Stock, PS2.3, Fusion360, Debian, Windows 10.

Fusion still has a free license. You can still export stl files. It works fine.

I do mostly technical stuff so I mostly use Fusion360 (non commercial). For the more artistic aspect, Blender is more appropriate for me. Be warned that both have a steep learning curve.

Fusion360 has many excellent tutorials on youtube.

I use FreeCAD almost exclusively.  It does almost all I want and it runs well on both Linux and Windows platforms.

RE: modeling software ???

I use F360 personal for free.  Although I had to go through some awkward steps to renew the free license after 1 year.  It prompted me to renew my license and only offered the paid choices.  I forget exactly how I did it but I eventually got the free personal license again.

RE: modeling software ???

To renew you Fusion 360 follow the steps like installing the whole software again (Use Ted link in above). Download installer and run it. It will then recognize your installed Fusion 360 version and ask should that be opened instead of installing again. Press yes and new trial renew will open. Hope this helped.
