RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

Whatever the delay is .. it is ..

I delayed in ordering for almost an hour after announcement.. don't know why .. but will wait  for delivery ..

This year has been an interesting one for me .. I bought an Ender 3,  CR10S-Pro, 2 x Sidewinder X1, was up to 7 Prusa Mk3s and began building a CoreXY 300x300x400..

After all of this came the announcement of the mini and the 400x400x400..

Today I am down to 4 printers, 2 MK3S, 1 Sidewinder and 1 CR10S-Pro. The Sidewinder and the CR10S-Pro are up for sale and I expect to be down to just my MK3s by the end of Nov.. WIll be headed to Frankfurt on the 19th to see what's new ..

Next year is looking interesting, looking forward to checking out the mini and will one of the first on line for the CoreXY.

After all of these experiences, there are good printers out there .. but .. I just want to design sh.t and print it.. I am tired of problem diagnosis, repair, upgrades, ya ..da ..ya..da .. ya .. da.. so bye .. bye .. posers, copies, off-shoots, trumpkin, and so on ..

Color me officially a dedicated fan boy and bring on 2020 ..

I too will scale back my non-prusa printers.  Too much hassle.

@martin4friends   I am not from Berlin, I am actually about 1.5 hrs south of Stuttgart, 88639, about 30 mins. from the Swiss border..

The CoreXY has been delayed and re-delayed due to a silly mistake. I asked some folks if I should buy a full kit or go parts, and with their advice, and my own frugal outlook (I am cheap) , I ordered parts.. Needless to say, 3 months later, some of my parts seem to have gone down on some slow boat from China .. huge mistake .. every week, I hear "just wait a few more days", the standard reply from Aliexpress vendors when they ship by China Post.. sheesh ..

I might sell the kit, by the time the rest of the parts arrive, it might qualify as an antique anyway ..

The Sidewinder is new, 2 prints, both calibration prints.. Have not turned it on since .. Only been using the Prusas for smaller pieces ..

The CR10S-Pro has about 200 hours on it, easy to do when the average print is 35 hrs. It has also not been on in awhile. .

Both printers are in excellent shape ..

If interested, let me know ,, they are both listed on ebay klein .. easy to find ..

Regards

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

Got myself two in the queue - One for myself and another for a friend. It could be interesting to see what happens - I bought them with all VAT paid without import duty for being an EU member country, but if British MPs manage to cobble together an iota of competence between them and agree on things, I might get them shipped to me when we're out...

The plan once I get mine is to fit it with a smaller nozzle and do fine work on PLA (miniatures and so on) while my MK3S carries on at 0.4mm in its now complete Ikea Lack V2 enclosure with added extractor fan and lighting 🙂

Can it be bought from the shop? I only found the E3D and Ruby, which are IMHO 0.4mm.

Nevermind, found it on the shop page. It's on the right side below the quantity.

Hi,

the ruby nozzle at Prusa is only 0.4mm
the hardened nozzle is only 0.4mm but the brass nozzle is 0.25, 0.4v or 0.6mm

some things are obscured on the eShop site, until you become an owner....  and log in first!

regards Joan

@joantabb

Thank you for looking it up. On the next order, I'll include one of the small snozzles.

Ordered one over a week ago this will be my second 3d printer, as the first was an Anet A8 which has not cought fire but i am fed up with have to spend 20mins or so leveling the bed.

Wasn't sure to go with the mini or the mk3s hopefully I have done the right thing.😁

There is a learning curve with the Prusa  but you will find it much milder than the one you took with the ANET.

Thing is though, they are listed as mk3 spares, not Mini spares....so are they the same? Aren't they shipping a e3d compatible nozzle with the Mini ?

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

I was looking at my orders from Prusa shop, it says Backorder - I ordered the same weekend it was introduced, just on Sunday. I am wondering what month from shipping info page is actually relevant for that order then  🤔

Anyway, another thing that caught my attention though... shipping weight stated there is whopping 11 kg 😳 considering I ordered MK3S previously and that one was 12 kg... granted 1 kg is filament in both cases. Other cantilever printers like Cetus has some over half that weigh (6 kg) and Ender 2 is like 4.2 kg. Is Prusa Mini built like Soviet engine to withstand atomic blast and outlast us in apocalypse?

The Mini will have the same nozzle profile as the MK3s - also you should look into slice engineering Vanadium nozzle if you are printing with abrasives.

@crawlerin

I reached out to support again, and they said the first 24 hours of orders will make it before christmas. but after that it could be longer. They had over 1000 orders in the first 24 hour span. SO hopefully the whole first release weekend will be fine.

If this is true, I would be very very sad... I placed my order on the 19th and that would mean next year delivery...

I already sold my other printer 🙁 This is no trouble a litte bag of Haribo's would fix...

Mini with FW:4.4.1 + SuperPINDA + Bondtech Heatbreak + PC4-M8 couplers + 1 piece boden
