Depends, latest reports are that businesses in China are ordered to stay shutdown to Feb 10th, (were already shutdown for Chinese New Year). The spread is growing exponentially in China, and some academic studies suggest there could be 250,000 cases in China by Feb 4. This is a big thing.

Of course, if PR are not waiting on anything out of China there will be no impact.

Acknowledged.  I am an operational and family medicine trained physician.  My job is to plan and execute plans to meet international emergency needs.  If China were to ask for help, we would likely respond.  It might become a larger issues, but today it is overly sensationalized.

I did not think about the effect fo the quarantine.  That is a true issue.

Give PR time until friday. I expect them to restart shipping on friday, if not sooner. I would say it's some part missing or firmware fixing what's causing the delay. I expect them to stack ready printers waiting for the last missing thing. I think there will we rapid shipping peak when they start shipping.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and perfect my MINI ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Well, we are speculating as always 🙂 I have a PCB order in China, I expect that to get delayed beyond the normal end of CNY.

Unfortunately, we seem to have two modes promoted by the media, sensationalism or complacency. Possibly the best thing to happen is the outbreak gets contained quickly, but is serious enough to prompt authorities to really tackle public health issues. The conditions of the so called "wet markets" are basically a recipe for creating novel viruses.

Anyway, back to the topic, haven't noticed any change on the spreadsheet. I have another week to tidy up my work area 🙂

Only the section for "Current lead times for new orders" was updated.

The rest of the page stayed the same.

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

I reached out to customer service midway through last week on live chat. I was curious about how lunar new year would effect their production and if they were "on track" to get my Oct 13th order out the door by the end of the week. They claimed it would ship before the 31st. I'm not having high hopes on that right now but they did confirm that I could apply what I already paid as a credit towards a MK3S kit if I wanted too though.

I'll give it until Friday since I'm traveling for work this week and early next week anyways, but if they don't have any updates by Friday I'm probably cancelling the order and getting a MK3 instead. I get delays and working out bugs. And I didn't have high expectations of being in the batches that shipped "at the end of November". But if I'm pushing into mid February early march for delivery it's getting out of hand for me.

I am really not in much of a hurry, the biggest feature I wanted the Mini for is not available yet (network) I already own 4 MK3s units.

@littleneutrino

If it's any consolation I have a Mini here connected to my network which is no use at all. Browsing to the printer IP just reaches a single web page showing under construction. I'm running mine via a Pi and Octoprint through USB currently.

I also remember a comment about we should expect new firmware probably weekly for the Mini - was it Josef who said that? And yet we are still on v4.01 released 20th December, five weeks ago. Is firmware one of the reasons for the lack of shipping? It was blamed for the initial delays in shipping the first orders.

Yeah i know its not available yet, and they have been working at a pretty good clip with the buddy board firmware, they just havent pushed the updates yet. however on Github you can see that they have been making rather a lot of changes, and thats just the public pushes for the updates.

I guess the firmware could be the delay.

I doubt it, They would just do what they did before and ship the units and have you flash the firmware when you get it. I dont really think there is much of a delay at this point. we have nothing to point to the fact that they wont start shipping tomorrow like they planned to.

I was not saying that there would further delay because of firmware, but I agreed that might be part of why there has been a delay.  The initial printers shipped with a thumb drive with the firmware on it.  I think they like to have the printer work with everything you need in the box.

I am in a hurry though, it'd be my first printer and I have lots of things on the print list.

At this rate I'm expecting it to ship in March 2021...
