@bobcousins

My order says payment accepted and invoice payment but doesn't mention "pending" anywhere, does it matter? The invoice says the payment went fine too.

I'm starting to worry...

Did you scroll down the order page to where it says order step by step? Thats where mine says Backorder Pending

@k9bub

Top to bottom, it says:

Invoice Payment

Payment Accepted

On Backorder (pending)

Waiting for payment

Thanks for the help by the way.

Feedback for all expecting MINI owners: we got ours on December 20, and it's worth the wait - in both, looking forward to a nice piece of kit, and having issues with firmware/hardware sorted out.

So far, it was only working for 140 hours in 17 of the 30 days it left its box; mostly to MINDA issues. Currently, it's not in working order, awaiting mesh bed leveling video analysis by Prusa Research.

I don't know if I should understand the feedback well or badly 😕

Bad for Bodo and good for you. That pre-Christmas versions have issues, firmware is a bit raw, and your printer which you receive later will be better.

@kropexx, just as @crawlerin said; if you like to tinker with your printer or beta-testing in general, the very first MINIs will be a joy for you. If you expect to just print stuff for your other projects, you're better off with a mature design MK3 or wait until design issues are solved - which I don't doubt will happen sooner or later.

While we are happy that we received the printer before Christmas; in hindsight, it would have been better to wait a little longer, and leave beta-testers to spend their time with Prusa support and exchanging shipped parts on their MINI after every couple of days of successful printing.

@bodo

What needs to be clarified though is that the beta testing has officially ended. So the kits that all of you received were not beta. They were the released product. So it should have been working as advertised. This means they didn't test it properly and and they didn't organise the beta testing properly. They had no reason to come up with a release date if they didn't know if its really going to be ready. As I see it this whole thing was a huge mistake from prusa. They underestimated the orders, the time and the testing procedures. I understand that a product cannot be perfect and it will have failing parts but the way I see it everything went wrong here.

Nevertheless still waiting for the printer and I am happy the mistakes are being handled even if that means extending the delay.

@geoper2, fully agree. I did not enroll in beta testing program, I paid the full price, and I got my delivery later than expected (which I understand is still early).

If your new car or new household appliance would have problems to the degree the MINI has, the manufacturer/brand of these products would suffer an image disaster. P/R might get away unharmed, as they might have a competitive product and many of their customers may be tinkerers.

Yet, Josef Prusa seems to think that the MINIs delivery condition is well average with all new products in his blog post:

Even after two months of internal and one-month external BETA testing, the MINI still has some teething problems as every new product.

Given our experience with the Mk3, I trust P/R have the capability to fix the MINI to a mature product at some point.

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

I do not have much problem with MINI though I haven't print as much as any of you guys (few stuff like covers and preparing Lack enclosure) and haven't touched it in over a week due to other things to take care of (like re-building living room to make appropriate space for printer).

A bit of banding which I have yet to take a look to tightening X pulley after someone posted very helpful info on how to access it, first layer jumping up and down depending on temperature, geopolitical situation and moon phase probably, rest are FW issues. I will certainly update if I encounter any of teething issues. I have (hopefully) eliminated some of them by adjusting MINDA height, re-doing zipties (super tight) and relieving strain (X carriage would jump back 1.5 cm after moving it to end of axis) even before powering printer for the first time. Thanks to you who have helped collect most common issues and solutions.

@bodo

It is a well known fact that no manufacturer of 3d printers has ever released a product with stock faults.

I think you mean "without".  Clearly, the ender-3 has stock faults.

Haha don't get me wrong I would recommend Prusa to anyone. I believe the quality and after sales experience is better than a lot if not all. But I would also recommend to buy a "mature" product 😝

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

no one has an issue with being completely lied to over the last few weeks?

"theres no issue"
"theres no delay, you'll get by end of january"

"heres the issues and delay times"

not what i'd expect with everyone talking prusa up...

They never lied to me.  They refused to answer many of the questions I asked.  I am sure it was how the question was asked.  I was direct and either I received a direct answer or a non-answer.

someone was told "there are no issues with the mini" (@mwittm1 apparently)
myself and others were told they'd get theirs by end of jan and everything will be "on time"
