@nikolai-r

Maybe $10-20 per month.  I would have to see the features.

Well no need to join to develop. How many people are actually developing new firmwares for others to use. It’s not that many.

everyone is free to develop for no money. Everyone is free to install for no money.

If you want to extend your warranty to cover a modified board then that should have a cost.

@charles-h13

Would be a no-go for me. Kind of hard to justify spending not only time but also money to improve/fix their firmware.

@phr0ze

With this step PR is forcing the developers to join the program. Best example is MMU2 and early MK3. A lot of people put a lot of effort to improve the firmware. I'm still (forced) to run a custom firmware to make MMU2 more reliable. If you buy a new hardware and you have to void your warranty in order to make it work, is a pretty big disadvantage. Something hard to explain somebody why to buy from PR instead of any far east company in this case.

Like I said before, I need to see the specifics.  I would not pay to just help develop.

I develop with another entity and I pay to do so.  I get a 25% discount on purchases.  There would have to be a quid of some sort for me to participate.

Just a thought, could this measure be related to burnt Prusa printer from not that long ago?

I'm pretty sure it is. With a growing company size the liability is getting more and more important.

Liability is huge.  I had a printer motherboard fry to a crisp recently.  I filled my house full of smoke.  I can see the risk

At the end of the assembly manual they refer you to the : "3D Printing Handbook", which is tailor-made for your (mini) printer.

is there a PDF available or is this only available in hardcopy (with printer)

found it: https://www.prusa3d.com/downloads/manual/prusa3d_manual_mini_en_1_0.pdf

the shiping table was updatet

[Updated: December 10th, 2019]

Original Prusa MINI

The Original Prusa MINI started production at the end of November and shipping started in December - only backlog of orders from the first announcement day - October 12th, 2019 (we will not probably manage absolutely all of them). Orders from October 13th, 2019 and rest of October continue in January and February, new orders to be shipped in April 2020.

Well, that's super irritating, but not unusual for Prusa. I ordered on 10/14/2019, and was told December ship date up until this update. I was looking forward to using this while on vacation.

This is my third Prusa printer. I should know better by now when it comes to shipping dates.

@pingu

Thanks for sharing. Unavoidable step for bigger companies. Let's hope the "Developer Program" will have nothing in common with Apple or MS developer program.

Our application developer tools, SDKs, documentation, etc are all freely available. Not sure what the reference to MS here is about.

Disclosure: I work in Windows.

Reviewing the orders shipped and it sure seems that they are all without the sensor.

Yes, still only 'no sensor' orders showing as shipped. Hopefully tomorrow will see some of the orders with sensor start to move.

I'm interested to know why these are being used. Is there a mechanical reason or just short supply of festo's?

@ charles, that seems right. i guess they have issues with the sensor in some kind.

the last as shipped marked in the sheet ist exactly 30 order numbers ahead of me. and i have ordered no filament sensor, too. i'll hope we will see shiping notification in tomorow. i will inform via this thread imideatly! wish me luck

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

I talked to CS about shipping of first day orders with sensor. And they tell me that they will start shipping next week.
