RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

Seems I was a bit too quick, a Prusa employee stated that the start of shipping isn't pushed to january and more infos should come soon.

For those of you wigging out waiting, build some models while you wait.  I already have three prints built in Fusion360 and ready to go.  Good way to still engage in the whole 3d printing thing while you wait for the hardware 🙂

Not compulsively checking status updates twice daily helps. Spend the time reading and learning.

But but but ... it's part of my daily routine now, what am I going to do once the printer actually ships? 😱 Order a new one to wait more and keep daily habit of checking on orders?

You'll be pleased to know Prusa is starting a new subscription service. For the low annual fee of $999, paid in October, you will automatically be shipped "The New Thing" in April of the following year. Might as well sign up. You know you're going to.

So I ended up cancelling my mini order today.   I ordered on the 26th October, so well after launch. Rather than wait it out, I've managed to pick up an Original Prusa i3 MK3s that was Prusa assembled on Facebook Marketplace that was less than an hour away, with 3 full rolls of PLA included.

I plan on ordering one of the powder coated sheets (it has the standard steel sheet with it) and some prusament soon

I so envy you right now! I know I would not pass up a similar deal if it presented itself. Enjoy!

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

I’m a little disappointed that I have yet to receive an official email about my order I placed on day 1.  If one set an expectation they should set a new one prior to missing the original expectation.  I should have to look for answers. For a company which has world class customer service this is not what I have come to expect. Sure I could reach out to them.  I’m just unsure at this point to when I should expect my printer to ship.  The printer plus other items totals about 1k USD which is no longer in my bank.

If I wasn’t a fanboy and this wasn’t a second printer I would be turned off enough to cancel. However I will wait for an autographed mini. Impatiently.

Sucks to cancel though. That mini would have sold very high on fb.

@phr0ze

Yeah. They said it would delay it by weeks. Which I assumed was due to joes travel schedule and to deter me from the request. I figured I would still be able to have it by xmas break. I don’t believe there was an impact on my mk2s order.

Based on my orders with Prusa over the last 2.5 years you will not receive any email notifications about your purchase. Any delays will be only be published via general channels. The next email you get will either be a newsletter explaining the delay or your shipping notice.

Prusa Research does have world class customer service but that does not include communication skills. Once you have paid you wait or cancel, and they will ship your order as soon as they can. It's frustrating but the printers are very good and worth waiting for.

You should have received at least "payment Accepted" e-mail (unless you pay at delivery/pickup) and "Order Confirmation". You haven't received any of those?

Thanks, you owe me one clean keyboard and lower half of monitor.

Subscription based purchase of electronics ... "Products as as Service"  I can see some startup catching up on this trend and assortment of Silicon Valley VCs lining up for these bollocks. Since everyone is pushing you some kind of subscriptions nowadays. This one would actually be cheaper than any kind of yearly online training subscription, much less our yearly IT support contract renewals.

Bummer would be if year after, the only thing Prusa introduces is $99 Raspberty Pi based printing farm software (Pi, power adapter, SD card and Ethernet cable included).

Ontopic:

The MINI assembly guide has 11 completions already ...? 🤔

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

Hello all,

First post on the Forum although a fairly advanced Prusa user (Mk3S and Mk3S with MMU2S).

I ordered 2 x Minis directly after watching the YouTube launch video so must be near the top of the queue.

Anyway, my order status has changed in a very subtle way to include "Pending"
