@burtronix

When coming from Solidworks you should give Onshape a try (at least have a look) - that was my way.

Best regards,
Clemens Mödlin

Woot!  Looking good!

Overnight I printed a mount for my Wyze Cam.

It's super thin and tall so I used a brim...

I should have added more supports...

And I used Hatchbox orange because I didn't have any Prusa orange...

View from the camera...

@frankincell

How are you using the camera?  With octoprint?

Clearly, FreeCAD is the best option so I will stick with that. But thanks for the sales pitches - do you guys get commission? 🙂

WHOOT!

Look what I got today!

Now can all you seasoned mini pros tell me where to start? and best method to get this printing? I ordered both sheets and PRUSA Galaxy black PLA, which sheet should I use?

I am still waiting for the feet.

@k9bub

Start with smooth sheet, give it good wipe with IPA and it will hold prints nicely. With textured, people have difficulties making PLA stick.

Also adjust your MINDA height, in case it it too high for it not to crash into sheet. Have steel sheet on bed when doing initial setup.

There is assembly guide and handbook included, available online as well. You get some starting points from there.

Hope all goes well, post your experience!

@charles-h13

No, it's an app based camera from https://wyze.com/wyze-cam.html

They're only $20 and they work great, I have them all around my house so I can check on the dog.  😉

It will let me check on my printer from my phone, but it's not integrated or coordinated with the printer.

I would think the feet were important for keeping the printer level and stable...

Except my printer is sitting on 3 feet and hanging off my desk...   and it prints great.

Honestly I think this thing would print hanging from the ceiling...  which I might try....

I would guess this has been resolved since the first batch of Mini's, but check your hot end is seated correctly 😉

@bobcousins

I tried to become familiar with FreeCad (3 times) - but for me there are still too many bugs and the user interface is not too intuitive? Which route did you take to stay at freecad? Can you recommend a specific tutorial?

Best regards, Clemens Mödlin (PS: no commission fees for Onshape)

You can expect it every morning Prusa-Research-time. I'm from Czechia.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and perfect my MINI ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
