Temperature at turn on
I have had a Mini for quite a while now and I am not a constant user. I have been making fishing lures mainly and have been learning the ropes of Fushion 360 and 3D printing. I am discovering lots of things I can do with the printer. I live in Australia and my printer lives in the garage.
My question is: On a cold morning I cannot get the printer to start doing anything because the extruder and/or the bed were too cold. If I try preheating or any function I get the message basically too cold, reset required. I can heat the spring steel sheet with hot water, then hold the extruder to warm it up, which takes quite a while and is annoying.
I have trolled through the forums looking for possible ways to get around this problem.
Does anyone know a way to get the printer to a temperature to start functioning?

I have heard a few folks say they need to use a heater in an enclosure in cold environments.

If you do get it running by preheating but do not maintain the heated environment there is a very big risk of your prints warping. Basically it is refusing to print because it 'knows' the print is likely to fail.
So encolosure, or moving the printer to a warm room are your main options.

Thanks for your replies, a heater in the enclosure may be the answer, as nothing happens otherwise. As I am in Australia, my "cold" is nothing like the northern hemisphere, so this may be a common problem in those winters.

I have to turn a space heater on directly in front of the printer for about 20 mins and it gets warm enough get the printer going.
