Prusa mini users prints gallery ?

Hi Guys,

I've been following the "wait" thread as  well as many Twitter and YouTube resources that are focused on Mini.

Actually I'm a bit confused because most Twitter users especially that have participated in 'beta tests' (not the initial batch release beta 🙂 ) show prints with pretty impressive quality.

However some YouTube resources and regular users results are "just ok" or have some decent 3d printing issues.

I'm in 3d printing hobby for a few years now mainly building my repraps and I'm aware that successful 3d print is about both precise mechanics, good slicing and good quality filament.

Since my family live gives me no opportunity to spend as much time in the hobby as I was used to , I ordered mini as out-of-the box 3d printer that combined with dedicated slicer will produce a "Prusa" quality prints (top notch).

After some of the sample user prints I've seen I'm a bit worried that my current Delta and reprap corexy actually will perform better:)

I'd be very interested in seeing some of yours prints with sort info how experienced you are in 3d printing (that is 100% subjective of course). So we can actually  seeif Mini produces mk3s quality prints ...

Tanks and sorry for this a bit chaotic post.

Thanks for sharing!

Great idea, and I would like to see/hear if you did anything special to get the 3Dprint printed (special options in slicer/special filament/etc)

I use #prusamini on instagram and I have seen a lot of cool prints. Also another source for photos can be reddit.

The results I have seen so far are amazing for a printer of this size and price.

I actually browsed through some pics on Instagram and I see that still mk3s produces better print quality. Especially when it comes to layer alignment.

Can anyone having both print same object and post a pics?

@strandedbandit

True! I follow this guy and I have seen some nice results. I also watched John's 3D printing corner on youtube where he printed flex filaments with great results.

I just finished the first part of my spool holder custom fitted to my bookshelf. SUNLU PLA+ with the generic PLA and 0.2 quality settings. The arm is around 140 mm long and took 2:50 to print. I'm really happy with the quality, especially for a not fine tuned profile.

First tiny print: The jet from the print-in-place suprise egg. Printed at 100 % (38 mm high) in Prusament PLA Galaxy Black with the 0.1 quality profile. Cooling could have been a little better at the tip, but that's such a tiny area so I'm still happy. The wings needed a little bit of levering but are working perfectly now.

Hmm. So the Mini smooth print surface is the old gold color while the new Mk3 are the darker olive corrosion-resistant color. I'm curious why they're different.

@bobstro

Smooth Prusa Mini build plate in x20 magnification. It is not flat like on MK3 but have some very tiny vertical grooves on the surface (hard to see on photo).

The Prusa Mini textured build plate in x20 magnification. It has a much finer structure than on my MK3.

Interesting. I wish I could determine what the issue is with some of the textured sheets!

After a couple of test prints off of the flash drive, here is my first "real" print.  Hellboy from Fotis Mint. Approximately 140mm tall. Pretty happy with the Mini so far.

Sorry, not sure why the pic is squished 🙁

Very nice! I noticed your pics are not distorted in any way. Despite trying portrait, landscape, square, etc, I can't seem to keep mine from stretching. Any advice?

@stevensmith

The first two are just taken with my pixel3 phone turned sideways, the third one was kept turning sideways till I cropped it in MS-Paint and uploaded it to media again.  You can see in the pic below that many of my uploads to "Add Media" are sideways.
