@goszu

I will fix that.

I am not very happy with this build thread.

I am going to take it apart and start over.

Thanks for posting. I'm interested not because I have a desire for a clone, but just out of curiosity as to what is involved with a kit build from scratch rather than 2 part assembly.

@charles-h13

Man, I assembled the mini kit wrong multiple times, and there were only 3 parts to it.

Thanks for posting all the pictures, I'm excited to see where it goes 🙂

That's actually funny 🙂 The kit is a puzzle. But although I have not finished it yet I have enjoyed the build so far. It was a lot of fun. Too bad there is no Prusa Mini Kit version.

I am going to disassemble and take one picture for every new part added.  Kind of a time lapse.

Any suggestions on how to better do this presentation?

I will say I broke one part trying to get a nut inserted correctly and remove.  Inserting nuts in PC Blend is no easy task.

I have it built but will have to reprint some parts.  I recommend not printing with PC Blend for extruder parts.  It warps a little on some prints.  I swapped out the Urban Gray PC Blend for Urban Gray PETG.

Can't say I'm surprised, PC seems brittle for the press-fit nature of things like nuts and rods, etc.

Probably perfect for fan shrouds though 😀

@vintagepc

I am not surprised either.  I am a little disappointed.

RE: Prusa Mini Clone from China

Aaaand anothe thing discovered when I wanted to assemble it ... T nuts that attach XZ to Y don't fit into printed plastic parts of electronics enclosure. They are like 1 mm longer than notches on printed part (which can be fixed), and part protruding from extrusion is too thick (which is something that cannot be easily fixed). When screwed all the way in, they don't grip onto extrusion because of their thickness and whole part can easily slide around despite both side screws being tightened all the way. I don't want XZ just hanging on one single top screw. I will have to grind those down, as well as ridge on the plastic box to more reasonable thickness as I don't have spare matching M3nE nuts.

This whole clone really looks like "randomly sourced cheap parts thrown together, it looks similar, it should work". Definitely not for beginners, even if you dare to order it, be prepared to source your own parts anyway.
