poor calibrated filament.

Hello, I use Arfona Clear Filament for printing surgical guides in dental  imlantology,  (235° and Bed 70°).  unfortunately, the filamnet Diameter is about 1,9mm ant not 1,75. Is there any risk of damaging the mini+ ? Or is it ok when I just change the filament diameter in the slicer  from 1,75 to 1,9. In my old robox printers it doesnt work any more, I think the Robox extruder doesn't manage to move the filament

RE: poor calibrated filament.

I think, besides changing temperatures and filament diameter in slicer, you should also make extrusion calibration (by using 235° hotend temperature) and apply new E-steps if necessary. You will probably also need to adjust extruder idler because filament is slightly thicker now.

I don't see the risk of damaging the Mini.

@bogdanh

thanks a lot for your answer. I am not really a geek, so I don t really know what you mean: how to calibrate the extrusion ans how apply E steps (what is E steps?). And I don t know how to adjust the idler (someone told me about a screw, but I don't know which one.... ! Is there perhaps some further information somewhere so I can learn these things? thank s a lot !

RE: poor calibrated filament.

There are many videos covering extruder calibration. However I noticed, some are forgetting to mention certain details, which can make calibration confusing or unsuccessful. And of course, on different printer, procedure can also be slightly different.

In attached file you can see calibration procedure for Mini -if there are further questions in this regard, just ask.

You can see location of idler tension screw on extruder here -you might need to adjust it in case filament feed (extrusion) is not "smooth".
