New printable parts for the Mini+ ???

Was looking over the instructions for replacing the x axis bearings and noticed it recommends updating the Mini-x-end with the latest printed part (see step 2) How to replace bearings on the X-axis (MINI/MINI+)

looking at the printable parts Original Prusa MINI+ Printable parts , it looks like they have all been updated as of 2-19-2021.  The x-end is definitely changed since my printer build (11/2020).

Does anyone know what other parts have had substantial changes worth updating?  Thanks.

I looked at them and decided to just print them and put them in a box until I upgrade something else.  My understanding is they are subtle upgrades that offer small changes.  Nothing drastic or critical.  The key thing is they did not include a filament sample with the upgrade kit.

I've poked around a bit and not sure I'll find the answer in a reasonable time - is there anywhere that lists the print settings for the MINI+ Printable Parts? The entry in the prusaprinters site says PETG defaults. So only 15% infill? Sounds low. Any other info you all have come across?

If it makes you feel better, you should be able to find pre-sliced gcode for all the printer parts.  I'd offer you a link, but the Prusa Knowledge site seems to be having issues right now.

Pre-sliced would be great as well! Thanks so much for the offer if/when the KB comes back up. I'll try to search as well.

I did see a pinned post that suggested 20% infill in the grid pattern. It's not urgent, but it's been in the back of my mind to print a set of parts for the future.

Appreciate the quick reply!

Bah, thanks for that link. Clearly I need to step up my searching game. Sorry for the churn.

I followed all the links shared here but still wasn't able to find pre-sliced gcode for the Mini-parts? Did I miss it or is it not available? Am I right that all the parts should print without supports? I wanted to also print the X-End but from my point of view, I would print it exactly the other way around as it seems to have been printed on my Mini...

I can't find gcode either, I guess they don't provide it for the mini.  You should be able to print these without supports.  There is a file with print instructions it says:

Generate your own G-codes using PrusaSlicer. Select PETG or similar material with at least 20%  grid infill. Place only 2-3 objects around the center of the heated bed for each individualG-code.

There's no pre-sliced gcode that I know of. It's not hard to set up a preset for the Prusa specs and build plates of parts to slice in PrusaSlicer.

In general I agree with you. But how do I need to understand the below screenshot from github. For me this sounds like they use some modifiers while printing certain parts or do I get this wrong? If this is the case, there is no way for us to get this "right" by slicing it on our own

RE: New printable parts for the Mini+ ???

I've printed a complete set of parts for one of my Minis, to change it from orange to Neon Green PETG.

I sliced everything at 15% gyroid infill, 3 perimeters, 0.2 mm layer height. Came out great, no issues.

I for one stay away from grid infill, like it's the plague since the days of printing my very first Lack enclosure. Several issues with crashes, until I switched to gyroid. Grid has overlapping lines in a layer, which can cause subtle pile-ups at the intersections, enough to result in crashes. Why it's still the default is beyond me. Even from perusing their very own knowledgebase entry on infill it is apparent that there's not much to say for grid.

@fuchsr it hasn't always been the default, a few Prusa Slicer updates ago gyroid became the default, that's how I discovered it, then for some reason it was switched back to grid.

I do agree though, gyroid is awesome infill.

RE: New printable parts for the Mini+ ???

I think, which infill pattern we use, depends on printed object properties. That is, gyroid is ok in some cases, but not so good in another. For example... if printed object is relative thin, then gyroid infill can be problematic, because strenght of the object won't be distributed equally in all directions. That's because gyroid is printed in one direction and direction is slowly moved/rotated as layer are increasing. Means, if printed object is relative thin, the whole strength is concentrated in that one direction and at angle of 90° (horizontally), object will be weak. The other problem I see with gyroid is, if infill is relative low (say 20% or less) and printed object contains small holes (i.e. for bolts), then walls of the holes don't get much support of the infill. I think, gyroid should be used on larger (cube shaped) objects with large infill volume.
For stuff I print, I mostly use rectilinear.

Gyroid can get thing shaking too. When I choose not to use it, I go with Cubic. Kind of a middle ground between Grid and Gyroid.

Yes, cubic is a nice infill too.
