RE: *NEW* 4.3.0-RC2 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI/MINI+ is out

@mgoleta-2

Issues concerning the firmware are best published here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues

It is not unusual for the filament to flow slightly after loading or calibration. That is why the temp. is also reduced to 170deg. to prevent this.

GitHub is the best place to get the developers attention, if there isn't already an open issue for the same problem. https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues

The forum pages rather less, I suppose. Of course, it would be a huge task to look through all the comments.

I posted the issue on the GITHUB site.  It appears that a filament retraction is not being performed after completing the first layer cal.

Does it really extrude filament? I have always thought that some of it just oozes out. That behaviour has not changed between firmware versions, at least not for me. I have not tried with any other filament than Prusament PETG, so don't know if it behaves differently with say PLA.

Bets place to report issues is github: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues

This forum is more like for requesting help, through sometimes Prusa representaties do report the issues. But more like p2p with prusa's support.

I think that the numerous feedbacks are certainly helpful for further product development. For this reason, too, I find a forum to be a very valuable platform.

No doubt about it.  I learn more here than the help guides or YouTube videos.  I am sure Prusa's programmers and engineers could also.  I have a couple of issues to put on GitHUB.  I just want more tests before I post them.

This is also the main reason why I like to work with open source products. There is a large community and you can constantly expand your knowledge. I hope that Prusa will continue in this form for a long time. Github feedback is always very valuable and I also hope that many people take advantage of this opportunity 👍 👍 .

Concur.  Open source used to scare me but it now assures me if there is a large community supporting it.

Happy so far with RC2. The min-temp issue is at least solved for me now.

But what changed to 4.2.1 is that when connecting to Octoprint it showed the Octoprint Logo with limited menu. Now with 4.3.0-RC2 the normal Prusa menu is not changing when connecting to Octoprint. Any reason behind that?

@ra-ma

So OctoPrint works fine, but it sits idle at the Prusa main menu? That would be preferable to me.

I guess you will get the limited menu when you connect during ongoing print not to destroy the print by any forbidden command.

I wish the mini showed the progress better and more visibly with Octoprint.

I am still using the stock firmware; but the main gripe I have is that I have to disconnect octoprint every time I want to load/unload filament. The process for load/unload is grayed out in OctoPrint, and the plugins to load/unload don't seem to work right.

It's a very minor gripe.

@zoltan

Maybe, but it is not a problem for the MK3S.  THE STATUS of the print is at least visible.

@technogeeky

I think that some functions will be implemented to the Mini firmware. But this takes time and the developers are certainly working on the further development and of course also pending priorities. Octoprint runs so far on my 4.2.0 that I can send a print job and it will be processed.

@karl-herbert

I think mine might be due to an overhearing power suppy.

I shutter to think what your power supply might be overhearing that would cause it to restart your printer. 😲
