Mini Parts Now Appearing in the Store

As title, Mini Parts Now Appearing in the Store under New Arrivals. No category has been set up yet so it is a work in progress I guess...

Nice find. Was looking every day for these things, haven't found anything yet. Think work is still in progress, because I can't find them in the new arrivals section :0

But they told, they will be available early next week (tomorrow?)

It’s better to give than to receive. Especially advice.

'MINI' is now tagged, so you can easily search for Mini related spares. It doesn't include spare nozzles though at present.

Nozzles for the Mini are the same format as for the i3 (E3D V6) and those are already in the shop.

Apparently people who have ordered a Mini that was not shipped yet have no access to the Mini spare parts (you see it in the new arrivals section but get an error message if you try to open the product page), which kind of sucks if you want to save on shipping and order some spares alongside your printer. I've contacted customer support...

Well I believe there was a debate about if the Mini noozles are exactly the same as for the Mk3 or not. I can wait until the nozzles are tagged for Mini as my order isn't due to be shipped until February.

It's pretty much official info.

https://blog.prusaprinters.org/original-prusa-mini-is-here-smart-and-compact-3d-printer/

Of course, the MINI isn’t just a smaller version of its older brother, it adds quite a few awesome features that are new to our family. It has a full color LCD display (2.8’’, 320×240, 65k colors), replaceable spring steel sheets (you can choose between smooth and powder-coated!), print via ethernet, optional Wi-Fi, or direct from USB drives (no more SD cards), Mesh Bed Leveling, support for E3D nozzles, sensorless homing thanks to silent Trinamic 2209 drivers, custom 32-bit mainboard, built-in online firmware updater… And we’re improving the user experience as well.

The MINI comes standard with “One-Click Printing” – insert a USB drive with a sliced object and then you’re just one click away from starting the print! And the rest is pretty quick, too! Preheating the machine for PLA printing takes roughly a minute, while ASA preheat is around 3 minutes – depending on the ambient temperature, of course. Plus, you can swap the nozzles with other E3D compatible nozzles. The standard 0.40mm nozzle is a great, versatile solution, but if you need highly detailed prints (e.g. miniatures for your desktop RPGs), you can easily swap it with a 0.25mm to achieve a higher level of detail.

Granted, E3D makes nozzles for other systems than V6 too - Volcano, Super Volcano and Cyclops - but those are specialty hotends (capable of extreme temperatures) which barely anyone uses.

Given Prusa advertises the Mini with 280°C max extruder temperature which is even less than the 300°C they advertise the MK3S with (which has a standard V6 hotend) there can be absolutely no doubt that the "E3D compatible" refers to E3D's V6 nozzles. Also check out how thin the heater block is. There is no way in hell this thing could take anything longer than a V6 nozzle. The pipe above it is the heat break, a nozzle can't go up there.

the heaterblock of the mini is 1:1 e3d v6, but hte edges are roundedeben the e3dv6 silikonsock is compatible

so the v6 noozles should fit, should be the same. but i havent screwed it out

I'm curious why they chamfered the heater block edges then if dimensions overall are the same. Looks like the standard block would easily fit there too in terms of space available.

Air flow considerations for the print fan maybe?

All the plastic parts appear to have about the same minimum distance to the heater block as with the i3 design, so I think danger of melting could be ruled out as the official reasoning. (But since the original PETG fan shroud on my MK3S already did constantly sag down due to the proximity to the heat, that could still be a danger even if it's not officially acknowledged. I've since used a self-printed shroud made of polycarbonate which withstands higher temperatures and have pre-printed all the Mini extruder parts with that material too, just to play it safe.)

Could it be as simple as improved nozzle visibility? That would explain the underside at least. Not sure why the top has been chamfered, and I thought mass was good for thermal consistency. If nothing else, it might drop a little weight.

The Mini nozzle is the same as on MKs. I changed the Mini nozzle to the same MicroSwiss Plated Wear Resistant one I have om my MKs.
No problem just fits and prints.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
