Have printer nozzle heat set to the loaded Filament setting instead of the file setting

Hello,

 I just upgraded (or downgraded, depending how you look at it) to a Nozzle X- Playing with it, I get clicking noises from the Extruder when at the default settings of 215 with MicroCenter PLA. I had to go way up to 245 to get it to print properly with this new nozzle.

My question is this:

 I have prints on USB sticks, which default to the PLA setting of 215 . Is there a way to do prints off those USB sticks and have it ignore the file temperatures - and use the temp set on the printer?? (ie: I do not want to go back into slicer, and export a new slice with a higher temperature)

Does 245-255 sound normal to you on a Mini with a Nozzle X Nozzle?

I've run a Nozzle X on my Mk3S and wasn't too happy with it, weird thermal profile. Went back to a nickel-plated copper nozzle and the world is okay again.

Sure, you can change the temperature on the Mini. While it's printing, go to Settings/Temperature.

But 245 sounds crazy high, even for a Nozzle-X

@fuchsr

I have not had an issue with Nozzle X.

Also no issue with Nozzle X..

But you could edit the .gcode file in notepad++ and change the temp to whatever you wanted in there..
just search for M104.. and change the number after that.. it would be in a couple of spots, dont change the
M104 S170 ; set extruder temp for bed leveling

the next 2 instances should be changed.. Save and your done.

My Mini has: A SuperPINDA + Bondtech Heatbreak + Bondtech Extruder installed

On the Bondtech for the mini, is there a special firmware?

I am installing one this week.

@cwbullet

 the Bondtech extruded? No firmware required but you need to add one line to the startup gcode to set the esteps.

@fuchsr

Thanks.  For the MK3S, it requires special firmware.  I have not even read the instructions yet for the Mini.

I installed the Bondtech heat break and a Nozzle X last week on my mini. I print my first layer at 220, and 215 for the rest of the print. 245 seems really high to me though.
