@zoltan

This does not explain how a new or old file can park ok with 4.05 and fail with 4.1. I have proven this by repeating the prints.

For reference, my Mini was ordered Day One and shipped in December.

Is the video available anywhere apart from Facebook?

This is the gcode in the video. It prints perfectly with 4.05. The park fails like in the video with 4.1. It is repeatable.

@zoltan

Ok, trying again to upload gcode...

Did not work. Is there an email address that works outside of this broken forum for sharing?

Zip the GCODE file and drag it into the text editing part of the posting

G-code succesfully downloaded,  fisrt check shows you have a bit different post print code then the standard. Will check tonight on 4.0.5 and 4.1.0.

Hello everyone!

Am I the only one who finds the new loud & silent modes really annoying? I much preferred the old "clicks", I had to revert to 4.05 because I just can't stand the new sound options.

@stephen-c32

i have tested the end code of your G-code file which is:

; Filament-specific end gcode
G1 E-1 F2100 ; retract
G1 Z21.9 F720 ; Move print head up
G1 X178 Y180 F4200 ; park print head

both 4.0.5 and 4.1.0 did the same movement: bed to the front print head to the right

you did not use Octoprint or other serial printing?

@zoltan

No octoprint or other serial method, this is printed from the original Prusa USB memory stick. This file and others print perfectly from 4.05 and fail every time on 4.1. My Mini was ordered on Day One. Has there been a manufacturing  change since the first batch that could be a problem? As I showed in the video, with 4.1, it parks as it should, but then continues to move after reaching the park position. It is not a gcode problem and it only happens with 4.1. It is repeatable with different files. I can make the problem go away by going back to 4.05. Is there a checksum test to confirm that my firmware file is not corrupted?

@stephen-c32

A bit strange, but let us sort it out.

Yes the firmware is checksummed and signed.

Can you please zip and post your 4.1. firmware pack?

I will flash it and test.

Hi Mateo,

thank you very much for your feedback, I have forwarded it to Firmware team and they are working on sound enhancements.

Has anyone noticed if you disconnect from Octoprint from the Mini.. If the hotend assembly is in the middle of the bed, the hot end moves back to its home position and grinds as its going, not sure how else to describe it..

My Mini has: A SuperPINDA + Bondtech Heatbreak + Bondtech Extruder installed

I have read of the challenges that some users are having with 4.1.0, which has made me cautious about installing it.    It would be nice to hear from users who are happy with the new firmware.   I'm a fairly new user running a bog standard Mini and default profiles (with minor tweaks) from Prusa Slicer.

I agree , I would like to hear this as well. I just swapped my hotend to a mosquito and now have reliable consistent prints. I would hate to have a firmware change cause problems.
