UK- Any recommendations for food dehydrators to use for filament drying

Most of the threads I can find revolve around dehydrators you can buy in the US, but I'm looking for recommendations for ones available in the UK. Fleabay has a number of units that appear to be good value for money but they aren't from "High St names", but does anybody have a specific recommendation?

In more general terms, I understand that variable temperature control and a timer are preferred, are there any other things to look out for?

Thanks in advance!

I wish mine had a timer.

@bobstro

Must be somewhat under a million external timers you could use. Sure, it would be nice if one was built-in, but solutions are readily available.

Oh definitely. Just pointing out it's an unexpectedly nice feature to look for in a new unit. I'll plug it into my Christmas tree timer for now.

Depends on how many filaments you want to dry at once and your budget.

For a single reel of filament, an OYPLA or equivalent : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350W-Food-Dehydrator-5-Tray-Shelf-Dryer-Machine-Fruit-Preserver-Beef-Jerky-UK/174459824314?hash=item289e9da8ba:g:le4AAOSwqn1fDEvr

You want to try and find one with removeable trays inside the rings, the OYPLA used to have this feature, no timer but at the price these sell for, you can buy a cheap timer.

For many reels, you will need a bigger dryer, preferably square with a door, these start around £100 and can be bought with a timer.

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

@chocki

Thanks for this, I'm only looking at drying one at a time, so that's not a problem. The one you linked to (and similar 'unbranded' ones) don't seem to have the removable trays, but I guess that's nothing that a quick Dremel won't solve!
