Is the "Messlupe" you put a link in your posting good quality - or lets ask: do you own one of these? It has everything I would expect, but most important is good optical quality to me.

Best regards, Clemens

This is one of the tools I reach for a lot and haven't seen it listed yet:

https://www.amazon.com/iGaging-36-LED10-Measuring-Magnifier-Illuminated/dp/B00JHPTK28

Very good for inspecting the first layer for the right amount of squish as well as debugging other print issues.  There are cheaper versions available (as well as more expensive).

Here is another, cheaper, one I own and can vouch for.  In fact it is the one I leave laying out by the printer - has very good illumination.  I would not call it high quality but it works well.

I have just ordered the "Messlupe" from Amazon and can let you know as soon as I have received and tested it.

Needle nose pliers are essential.  The LAOA needle-nose pliers were recommended to me and I have grown to love them for both of my hobbies.

I got my "Messlupe" today but forgot to order some (4 pieces) batteries "AG9 batteries". The quality is quite ok for the price and with the LED's there is enough light to see the enlarged object well (used a led flashlight instead). The leather bag is also very practical and protects the optics from dirt and dust.

I purchased the RegerKnife utility knife last week.   This folding utility knife comes with 100 blades.  It is well worth the price.  It is great for cleaning up prints just about any straight cut.

Definitely a good choice and cheaper than my measuring magnifier (EUR 45,99) 👍 !

Wow, a stable and high quality multi cutting tool that can be used anywhere 👍

I use this knife to cut fine parts:

Thanks.  That is a great brand.

I found them on US Amazon: NT Cutter Pro and the replacement blades.

Are you happy with the "Messlupe" - price would be ok to me. Would you recommend it?

As a cutter knife I prefer a knife which clampes the blade - so I use an original Stanley knife which is available for 9mm and 18mm blades. I need a blade that is firmly connected to the body of the knife - I hate wobbling knifes. Here is a link:

Stanley is known for good quality. I can definitely recommend it. The "Messlupe" is not Carl Zeiss quality but reasonably well made. Enlarged with slight edge distortions. The leds are sufficiently bright. 4 button cells V394 are required for operation.

Very nice.  I wish those were available in the US.  Nice find.  Not even close but Fatmax Cutter is what we have to live with.

One more:

For calipers, I personally recommend these: EZ-Cal by iGaging.  My favorite thing is that is will do fractions of inches for those folks that refuse to convert to metric.

RC car tool kits usually have all of the actual tools you might need at around $25-40.   This basic set has hex drivers, screwdrivers, some even have wrenches, good pair of needle-nose pliers.......

Good choice. For beginners, I would rather recommend a digital version because the analog caliper is more difficult to read. I prefer Mitutoyo.

https://www.medien-werkstatt.de/fileadmin/flashbeispiele/messschraube.htm (for measuring high-precision parts, rather less for 3d printing).

Another helpful tools are:

http://www.microtes.cz/SMT/uhelniky-nozove-SMT.pdf (Check perpendicularity)

or this one:

https://www.messmittelonline.de/haarlineal50mm.html (Different length makes it easy to check the flatness of the print bed and the print parts).
