RE: Thingiverse migration tool questions

@ondrej-stritesky

Hi,

I have the same problem even though I put the correct URL, which is "https://www.thingiverse.com/murat/about" in my case. I keep getting "validation failed".

Cheers,

Murat

I'm having the same issue—it appears to be broken again.

Add me - same problem when trying to verify "prusa - tg connection" I get "verification failed". Seems to be broken again, if I interpret the several forum threads of the last months right...

Same here... not working 😕 Is there a place where one can bring up the issue (GitHub or similar)?

Fix will come very soon. For reporting, you can use the feedback tool on the right side of the PrusaPrinters page.

RE: Thingiverse migration tool questions

I'm having the Verification Failed error.  It tried it both with Firefox and Google Chrome on Ubuntu 20.04.  I was logged in on Thingiverse before testing the connection.  I tried it opened and logged in as another tab and in another window.  I tried https://www.thingiverse.com/ctheroux/designs, https://www.thingiverse.com/ctheroux/about and https://www.thingiverse.com/ctheroux as the profile URL.

Thanx. Time to fire up twitter for the second time this year... I really only use it for entering contests...

Entering contests and publicly shaming companies when they do something stupid/unethical/illegal/unjust

... is there any other way to use Twitter? 😀

RE: Thingiverse migration tool questions

Hi all, I just created my account today and tried importing my 67 Thingiverse designs but only 16 made it to "draft". The rest shows up with a picture but only reads " ! Error. Try again later", with no editing option whatsoever and no retry button - even after a few hours wait.
I also didn't find any more info on how to solve that or how to start retrying here in the forums.

Who can help me out? 🙂

Well, never mind, I found out aaall by meself that I could just cut the crap off the end of the import URL to be able to retry. It seems, however, that the Prusa Importer constantly re-fails on all of my other objects and at least at the moment I don't have a real clue which detail might be different for the successfully imported items. So, ATM, you could say for me the import works approximately as reliably as Thingiverse itself, at a success rate of about 25% 🙂

Also worth mentioning might be the fact that the Prusa import verification URL must go in to your Bio field on Thingiverse; putting it into the Website field of your Thingiverse profile only will inevitably result in a fail on verification, too.

Import is still not working for any more of my objects from thingiverse. That means less stuff here. Does anyone know where to file a bug report?

@ondrej-stritesky Thanks for noticing. Alas, the import is still broken. Do you have a time frame on this?

@layershifter

Hi, I am sorry for that inconvenience. Where is the problem, please? I think, that TG import works well now. There is one minor bug, that you have to place our PrusaPrinters link into Bio field instead of Website field on Thingiverse.

Please let me know if it still doesn't work for you.
Thank you, Ondrej

Verification ok

Import failed

This is what I get every time I try to import anything for the last months.

The problem is solved. As a test, I used your 3 mentioned things. And the import was successful. Please check the PrusaPrinters Messenger, I sent you the link with import results.
