I think we have a winner, considering their last "big" announcement was the reworked site/blog/forums/print community

Possible and would be welcome, but I would rather have a huge Core XY printer.

A printer enclosure that fits two MK3s side by side.  Why buy one when you can get two for twice the price!

@tim-m30

You can buy two and glue a print that has two parts or buy one big printer that will allow you to print it as one piece.

Mk4 would be ok.  I hope it is larger.

That does not look like a MK3 or MK3s

My best guess ist a big area printer, with up and down moving bed. maybee toolchange. niticed that joseph prusa and the small crazy company e3d are very close in communication, e.g. prusa visited many times e3d and postet on youtube. maybee its a kind of colaboration between e3d and prusa, with e3d tool changer option.

Sorry source of my investigation:

Interesting. And also interesting they're working on a 400x400 coreXY.

Hmm disappointed as imagine 'in development' (and Prusa's track record for delivery, first version stability and shipping speed) means this is well into next year before release.

I'll be going elsewhere for large format and can maybe look at this in a year or two once stable and released.

RE: Something big is coming to ERRF......

i hope so, ant the blog post says it in a kind, that there will be an upgrade für the i3 seires. so, ill hope for an mk4 upgrade kit in a few months. im at the moment hapily with the setup raspi 3b+ and octoprint, but maybee a 32 bit board and prusafarm software would be nice, either.

just ordered spontanous an prusa mini, we will see.

As for the mini -- the calibration of that cantelevered arm is going to be a serious nightmare. Each X-axis rod has to be 'adjusted' so that the two are 1) parallel, and 2) perpendicular to Z; all done by a "clamp: in the extruder housing.  Good luck with that.  And the rotational forces on the Z as the bed slides back and forth are crazy.  Print quality is not going to be anywhere close to the MK3, even with what looks like 12 mm Z rods.

I just hope they park the support forum on a different page so all the help requests that come in for it land somewhere the RECENT POSTS section isn't flooded.  Though, as sad as the current forum is, not sure the influx that is coming matters.

The up side: Prusa gets a little bit bigger: and maybe they'll hire a couple marketing engineers/managers.

ps: too late, they've already dumped the mini forum on us ...

Interesting. The Mini is not sporting an all-metal hotend but the PTFE doesn't extend all the way into the hotend. Official top temp is 280C. Some sort of hybrid approach apparently.

I chatted with one of the Prusa guys at their booth, and apparently they developed the heatsink internally, but are still using the E3D heater block and nozzles. I forgot to ask about the heatbreak.

They had some of the screen GUIs available just connected to a USB power brick for us unwashed public denizens to play with (so we could get a feel of the user interface without interfering with the two Minis on display that were printing). I at first thought they were wireless remotes, but that wasn't the case. The interface was nice and snappy and the menu system was nicely thought out. The control that I used was the same encoder wheel (spin and click). As I'm writing this I realize that I didn't even try to see if it was a touch screen, but the menu lines were a bit small for fat-fingering a touch screen so I don't expect that it was. I asked, and they claimed that they don't have any current plans for an upgrade to any of the existing printers to use this display (would probably take a full electronics upgrade since the 32bit buddy board also drives the GUI). Or, they weren't willing to discus that yet... 😉 Reading the blog, I suspect that they will concentrate on the XL before looking at the MK4 (or integrating newer features into the existing I3 line). R&D can only do so much at a time.
