Recurring themes

I'm a fairly new member to this board but 2 things stand out.

a. A great many posters with problems have not previously contacted Prusa support. I wonder if support from most 3D printer manufacturers is so weak that people have come to rely on community solutions?

b. The weak link in the physical design of Prusa (and every other manufactures) printers is the fragility of thermistor wires. Beefed up wires might cost a little more but I suspect the reduction in support cost would more than cover it.

RE: Recurring themes

I'd add a subpart to  "A", being that users are also completely ignoring the search function. I've been here for a while and it wears on you having to answer the same question over, and over, and over because someone can't be bothered to spend 5 seconds searching before vomiting their problem into a new post. Even more so when there's an identical post with a solution and a clear title, literally right below the post in question... showing they didn't even bother to look at anything besides the "new topic" button.

Prusa is starting to work on documentation which will also help a lot with recurring questions.

Tongue in cheek here... do you really expect people to read documentation if they can't even read one title down in a forum? 😉

Also that documentation is difficult to find. I went looking after bubnikv posted a link and without that link it was 3-4 clicks in a not obvious place to get to the document site.  You have to go to Eshop, which if you aren’t buying anything is counter intuitive.

Guys, you kindda missed my point, not that people are lazy etc. which many are, but that their first reaction is to use a community resource rather than the manufactures support. My supposition being that the support from a great many 3d printer manufactures sucks the big one.

@neophyl "You have to go to Eshop, which if you aren’t buying anything is counter intuitive. " While I agree, especially if it's a pre-sales thing, anyone who's bought from Prusa can hardly have missed the chat option (tongue firmly in cheek) . Having said that if anyone has Joe's ear, perhaps the chat option could be on the landing page?

a) I tried to get a post stickied about adblockers and chat appearing - I like to think of myself as a semi-capable problem solver.....but even I had to ask about chat.  I had NO idea it existed........and was already on my second printer order.  I agree it should be more obvious that it exists.....but no way should it be accessible for non-customers.  Those poor souls already deal will enough crap lol

b) any wires by a large heat source that are also susceptible to movement WILL eventually break - try this for the heatbed: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/23482-prusa-mk3s-heatbed-cable-support-modified-original

Is your printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking?
Step 1) Wash your Steel Sheet
Step 2) Return to Step 1
