Prusament PETG Generic PETG (a reminder)
No question here - just sharing. I've been printing some missing parts for the activity tables in my wife's preschool, and have been going well printing with JAYO and Sunlu PETG. Today I was down to the last one that I needed to print and got the idea to just run Prusament orange for the last one. Started off perfect.
Halfway thru the print I could see all kinds of lines in the print ... but it straightened itself out and the print finished without a spaghetti monster.
At the end of the print I popped the part off of the bed and it was brittle, falling apart, the layers were not bonded...
DOH. If you use Prusament you have to slice the GCODE for the 250 degree print temp that Prusament PETG needs to work right. I knew that. I just forgot.
Must be old age.

I like Sunlu so far, tried a roll of Marble PLA and got very good results with it at stock settings.
Seems to deserve the good reviews on Amazon.
Useful info Dan, thanks, i am going to try some PETG soon, maybe will order Prusa PETG with some spares, would like to print a spare set of plastic parts just in case.

I haven't been printing all that long. Got my first crappy MonoPrice printers a little over a year ago and didn't learn much other than some new swear words. Finally my Prusa Mini was delivered at the end of December. So, I'm new. When I started printing things, I was fastidious about saving the gcode files "in case I want to print it again". Folders full of 'em. What nobody ever tells beginners is: don't do this. Because of exactly the problem you describe. Gcode is only good for an instant in time for a particular spool. Next time you print it, you'll need a different temp. Or, you learned some new trick for your start/end gcode, or the profiles were updated and are better some how, or, or or. There are so many reasons that tomorrow's gcode will be different from today's. I finally realized you just need to always slice right before printing. Took me almost a year. Oh well. At least I learned.

You can save your project as a .3mf file and it will retain your settings but with the ability to edit them next time you need to slice the file.

Yeah I just printed a model and it was just a tad off, so I checked and discovered that I had used the PLA sliced GCODE with PETG 😣 I was actually amazed how well it came out despite that...
And as far as Sunlu PETG is concerned. I've been printing for months now with Sunlu Gray PETG (a model I'm selling). I must be on role 30 or so by now, and it's been performing great. Not one lemon.
Of course, nothing beats Prusament Orange PETG... Love the color. I guess that makes me a Prusa fan boy...
