It’s basically a belt printer like creality printmill Kickstarter or the white knight.

There was a a post iirc on Twitter where Jo commented that he didn’t think it was the way to go but good luck to them.

Probably yes.  However the only slicers to support them (Cura Blackbelt and one other I cant remember the name of) swap the Z and Y around for slicing purposes so infinite Z.  As that's what they are referred to now in common parlance to those familiar with them that is what they are called.

Its very interesting watching them print.  Quite mind bending when you are used to a normal 3d printer.  Watching a section grow out the side of a part in mid air above the belt without supports is like witchcraft.  Of course its just a swap of normal frames of reference and its actually printing as a 45 degree overhang, but still 🙂

Jo gave a an answer to a similar question from Naomi Wu, who designed the PrintMill ( https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/1319625228717350918 ) "We tried this years ago and don't see it as a future. We will be releasing something different at the Dubai Expo 2020* next year."

Unfortunately Dubai Expo 2020 actually opens in October '21!
