So I updated my profile, filled in everything but no points.
Uploaded some prints and some makes, those points all registerd.
Very cool initiative! Keep it up guys.

There are some social goals like "Watch a Prusa Live" or "Promote Prusa on social media".
How to make them count? Do I need to connect the accounts somehow?

If we judge by the flow of new prints, the reward system is a success.

Well yeah.... Whenever I see something new the first thing that pops into my head is "This is why we can't have nice things" as I switch into a mode to see just how something could be exploited or ruined. I can't say exactly how we do it, but we do monitor new prints and if someone tries to cheat the system by trying various means, the files are deleted, and if its repeated, the accounts are fed to the internet gods.
It is a bit heart warming to see the majority of the comments to that redit post just basically calls them out and tells them to not cheat.

I like this incentive program a LOT, thank you to who ever made this happen! It has already got me viewing more of others prints than ever, posting makes I did ages ago, and publishing drafts of items I have had waiting in my que since I joined, and I am hopeful this will lead to me seeing more makes and engagement of my work.
Few things I'd enjoy seeing in the future,
* A Badge for getting a featured print- It is a big deal to make the main page, seems badge worthy 😉
* When you look at others profiles I'd prefer to see what badges they have currently not what badge they are pursuing.

Yeah sure... But look at all the prints uploaded that are like "Benchy but scaled 150%" or "A cat I downloaded from Thingiverse"...

You're not wrong, one downside is that this system can encourage high volume low quality uploads, and possibly model theft, but it also inspires people to do useful things even if they might mean to. With-in your example if that "cat" wasn't already on this site (assuming they didn't steal it) it is good to see it brought to this site so you don't have to search two sites to find it.
Even without rewards thingiverse is full of very basic remixes, Things just like 150 scale benchy. Sometimes that is what people may want when they are new to printing (I have had serval requests for rescaling my models in the past), additional benefit if they include their g-code this site would let you quickly see the print time difference which could be useful to some.
I am of course just explaining extremes and rare use cases as a counterpoint, again- in general- I agree with you that more models doesn't mean better models on this site (necessarily), but I don't think their is that much downside to it. Who knows how popular "gaming" the system like that would really be, hopefully not popular at all, as I want to see badges and points last for a while.
All I know is my friend who joined this site on day one has put more work into his profile in the last 5 days then he did in the last few years, I have already set a goal to make 10 new Prints a month, and Make 10 as well. So in a least 2 examples it has done some good.

Prime example here of gaming the system https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/99060-fry what a pointless, time wasting, disk space eating non model.
I wish the report function had a gaming the system option.

Hello peeps...
Just a small update to some of the comments here.
As far as the credit for a full profile. That is being worked on right now so it can be credited to each user, so please give it some time for it to be worked out.
As far as designs that are being posted that are just being uploaded for the points credit. We do go through the site and new uploads and see if someone is trying to cheat the system, and if they are trying to do so the upload gets pulled and if the same person does it often, they are ban.
But we do have to play it another way. What do you do when its a new designer who is starting off and learning things and who is excited and wants to share his work? We start to pull their designs and it discourages them from continuing. Or a simple design could be created for some sort of part replacement and such.
It is something we are monitoring and take action when needed.
As far as the badges and stls of them, it is in the works 🙂

Indeed! An added bonus is that I get much better feedback on my prints. Sure, the amount of likes and downloads are an ok way to see whether a design is populair but nothing beats an actual photo of a print I designed. It also gives others the incentive to print if there is proof a design is used by others.

IMO it's ruined the site. I don't post many designs but I have half a dozen that have been through a two year test and refine cycle that I was preparing for publication. Two of these have print and build instructions that have also been through a couple of months testing and rewriting.
Now it doesn't seem worth posting them as they'll just sink under a morass of cats and enlarged Benchies.
