Powder Coated Sheet - Prusa or Layerlock?
Hi, I am about to buy a Mk3s as an upgrade to my Monoprice Mini Pro. The MP Pro has a Buildtak-like black pebble finished build plate that works very well for me with only IPA cleanup between prints.
I have read of what seems to be variable quality and experiences with the powder coated Prusa build plate. I had intended to buy both the PEI and the PC plates with the printer but am now considering buying the Prusa PEI plate only and separately getting the Matterhackers Layerlok PC plate for use with PETG, etc.
Any thoughts and experiences comparing the Layerlok vs the latest Prusa PC plates that are now shipping?

If you can buy only one, go with the smooth PEI sheet. If you can afford both, get both.

If money is no object, buy buildtak, Prusa PEI Smooth, and Prusa PC TXT sheet. All three work and all three have their advantages.

Do you know whether the Prusa PC is equivalent to the Layerlock PC (or better?)
If I purchased Buildtak sheet, is there a bare steel sheet available to use with it?

My ideal smooth sheet would be a PrintedSolid spring steel sheet ($20), a BuildTak original black stick-on sheet ($18) and a BuildTak PEI stick-on sheet ($18). All prices IIRC. The BT stick-on sheets are much easier to replace, and the PS steel is thinner and flexier than Prusa's.

Thanks for the tip. PrintedSolid has some good stuff. They are out of the Buildtak sheet but do have the plain steel build plate in stock as well as a nice PC build plate, too

I have been running the RC1 version for a little over a week or so and had chronic "enforced Z leveling" issues. First few prints were fine then one day it just never would get past point 21 on the 7x7. I switched back to 3x3 and it worked great again. I'm anxious to update to the Final version since they've addressed that.
