OK to power on/off from power strip?

Just wondering if anybody knows if it is safe for my MK3S+ if I power it on and off from a surge protector or power strip. I’m putting it in an enclosure and would like to just leave the PSU switch on and control the power from outside the enclosure with a surge protector switch or possibly even a toggle switch. Is this ok to do as long as the printer is idle?

That's totally ok -makes no difference for printer.

...BogdanH's reply. A technique I use is to run the printer through a wi-fi controlled switched outlet such as this one offered at WYZE.com: https://wyze.com/wyze-plug.html

I also set up a wi-fi accessible camera (WYZE offers several models) that watches the printer. I can then monitor the print progress from anywhere using the app on my phone, and if a "spaghetti monster" develops, I just turn the outlet off. Yes, the print is ruined, but at least I won't have wasted a bunch of filament when I  get home.

energy usage

Wyze is ok, but I would recommend one of the companies that also include energy monitoring.  I do not see it on the Wyze site.  I like Kasa because it monitors energy usage so I can include that in the price of my prints.
