Nozzle droole during print start

Hi.

When I start a print on my mk3s, the nozzle reach target temperature much faster than the bed. This cause the nozzle to drool more or less molten filament that can intefere with the print. My solution is to heat the bed a bit before starting the print.

Is there something I can do to make the bed heat up faster or is it normal. Is it possible to add heating delay in the slicer?

Example: When printing abs I preheat the bed to 90C before starting the print. This way my nozzle reach 255C about the same time as the bed reach 100C.

Starting the print without preheatig, the bed has only reached 50C when the nozzle is 255C. Then I need to remove drool before the print start.

Yes there’s lots you can do as you can edit the start gcode section of your printer profile in Prusa Slicer (or whatever Slicer you are using).mmIts the start gcode that determines how your printer behaves to a large extent

Check out Bobs website here http://projects.ttlexceeded.com/3dprinting_prusaslicer_gcode.html  He explains with notes his set up and you can use as much or little of it as you want.
Several of us use a 2 stage warm up routine, combined with the preheat to stabilise bed and Pinda temperature it also leads to a more consistent first layer. Have a read and if you have any questions just ask.

Neophyl - Any chance you could share your code for what you describe? I see examples on the linked website but would love to reapply what you already have working. Much appreciated!

Everything you need is on Bob's website.  His examples are fully annotated and functionally are identical to what I use.  Specifically this section now (as the original link is older and the website has been reorganised)
https://projects.ttlexceeded.com/3dprinting_prusaslicer_start_gcode_mk3.html#prusaslicer-start-gcode-mk3

If you have a MK3 or MK3s you can literally just cut and paste that start gcode right into your printer settings to replace what is already there.
