Saw that one. Color is a no-go and Bowden extruder is a no-go for me. Beside of that I don't support the new strategy: "We sell everything through kickstarter".  Ironically purchasing prusa printer feels sometimes similar to kickstarter.

Anyway have fun with a new toy 🙂

Even if the XL should be offered for sale in mid 2021, I believe that the users will have to do a lot of development work. The electronics and the elements around it will not be the problem, Prusa has enough experience in this area, but much more the mechanics with regard to stability and dimensional accuracy.
But I can also be wrong and let myself be surprised. I think the working area will be 400x400x400mm, but also here I let myself be surprised.

@nikolai-r

Bowdenextruder reminds me of a locomotive that pushes the wagons in front of it. I wouldn't want to sit in the front wagon 😋

Joking aside..
The elasticity and hardness of the medium should have a great influence on directional stability, print quality and printability.
With the Mini it's not so tragic with the small dimensions, but you notice the difference to the MK3 when you print e.g. carbon containing filaments, where a larger pressure is built up. Precision will suffer. I have done many tests with the XT-CF20.

Apart from that I am surprised how good the print quality of the Mini is.

I am pleasantly happy with my CR-10 Pro and Anycubic Chiron.  I would prefer a non-Bowden.  I like to tinker.  I will do a write up on them BIQU BX.

Biqu doing a kickstarter? 😮

Do they really need that or is it a good way to launch a new product? 33000EUR is not a lot for their volume.

Waitaminit... people gripe about Prusa taking money before shipping a product, but now taking money without even guaranteeing a product is OK?

I think KickStarter is being abused by some of these manufacturers.

That's correct. Creality showed the others that it's perfectly fine to do it this way. People purchased it, most influencer were perfectly fine with this move. Obviously more companies going that route now and I don't blame them. Just not supporting it.

Kickstarter has only burned me once.

I'm more bothered by established companies abusing KickStarter. They have funding for R&D and product development, yet they're using pent up market demand to generate profits up-front without having to deliver a quality product. I suppose buyers know what they're getting into, but it seems like a shifty move by the manufacturer.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sunlu/sunlu-filadryer-s1-the-most-affordable-3d-printer-mate/comments doesn't make great reading, not sure where blame lies here, but there are a lot of frustrated customers!

Yes, problem seems to be that kickstarter haven't paid the money to Sunlu, but from what I've read it's not 100% clear why it hasn't happened.

I'm not sure I understand SME's motivation for using kickstart but I don't see why you're all bagging on them, seems to me it's no different than some guy sitting in he's living room with a "good" idea and no money. The fact that they have the cash for R&D and some sort of reputation means investors are much less likely to get mugged.

I have participated in over 20 kickstarters.  Only one ripped me off.
