@morphias

It looks like Covid pretty much messed up their supply chain and available labor.  These guys were producing and shipping over 6000 printers per month during better times.  Prebuilt is heavily dependent on available labor so it is in a class by itself.  The MMU dependent orders hit some other problem which could be supply chain related.  They pulled the MMU upgrades for a while.  The remainder of orders are dependent on the supply chain.  I believe their objective is to maximize throughput.  Single sheet kit orders seem to go out first.  Add-ons could delay orders if the items are not available.

There are anomalies with some orders.  Some folks got their orders shipped very quickly and it is hard to say why.  Other orders got screwed up due to IT issues such as with payment processing.  My add-on order (received already) got messed up that way.  Their system froze before payment on my order.  I came back a while later and added the items again to my cart and paid.  The next day my single order became two.  One was paid and the other not.  A CSR cancelled the unpaid order

@quasarpulsar

Based on the spreadsheet and some comments from others, it looks like a batch was prepared for shipment over the last few days that covered a period of time from late-April to early-May.  I think I was lucky in that my May 10th order was included in that batch and others that were in that window will also likely be seeing shipping confirmations soon if they haven't already.  Also, no extras in the order always helps.

Unrelated but anecdotal - this is the first Prusa printer that I'm receiving, but it's the fourth time I've ordered it.  I've been trying to get a Prusa since 2017 back when it was still the MK2 and every time it extended well past the estimated backlog date, I canceled the order.  The ETA on this one was 3-4 weeks when I placed the order and they just made it.  I was about to cancel again next week!

The other thing that might be going on here is rounding out bulk shipments to countries.  Prusa gets a very good shipping rate to the US.  They may be palletizing or containering shipments to the US that will be broken up once they hit FedEx's distribution system stateside.  This could account for them shipping some orders earlier than others based on where they are going.  Just a thought.

I think the shipping delays have been compounded due to an increase in orders after  Joe stated in the Prusa stream that there is NO Mk4 any time soon. and when there is,  there would be an upgrade path.

Sure many will want the new XL despite the huge  price increase over the MK3. I think anybody on the fence about ordering a  MK3s model that is now several years old despite the slightly newer "s" has pulled the trigger on an order.  I certainly did. ( ordered 15/5/2020). 3-4 weeks delay at time of order. Thats 4 weeks tomorrow. Sadly I don't think I will see it any time soon.

I agree it is definitely a result of a big spike in orders. I think it's more to do with tons of people being at home with nothing to do and other people who want to get on board with helping out to make face shields, etc, though.

Unfortunately, some reprehensible people have lied to jump the queue by telling support they desperately needed their printer to make medical supplies; but never actually made any. Support have stopped this now.

It still doesn't make sense that orders are being shipped out of order. There are still plenty of straight up basic kits with no extras that have not been shipped, yest orders from a week or more later have already been delivered. The post yesterday from @foobar is yet another example and it is infuriating for those of us that have been waiting longer and told "another week, another week". Absolutely nothing against @foobar - out of their control.

The shipping department at Prusa really need to get on top of this and ship orders in order.

Some people, like myself; desperately need the printer to get our businesses going and money coming in again now that some of the restrictions are being backed off.

Time lines since the time of order have doubled and this has absolutely killed me as I now have a backlog of projects I cannot complete, install and bill for. I've paid for everything (10's of thousands of dollars just in parts, let alone all my labour), including the printer and shipping; and have no revenue from it. I don't have the option of billing my customers up front then telling them to wait 6-8 weeks.

I am now waiting 7 weeks, plain orange kit. I have not contacted Prusa.

Is someone saying that if I bitch and moan and give customer support a line of baloney I may get my order shipped in front of you? I can spin a pretty tall yarn.

No mate. They canned the queue jumping after finding out the scumbags were boasting about it on social media.

Prusa should blacklist them IMHO and ban them from the eStore.

It's disgusting to profit or take advantage of the misery of others.

Trust me, I'm taking no offense at all and I'm just as perplexed as everyone else as to why orders placed before mine are still pending, even though there's nothing special about the contents of their orders or in some cases even less complicated than mine (both sheet types on mine vs. the standard sheet on someone's placed a week before mine).   I understand the frustration (heck, I've canceled three other orders in the past 3 years because I didn't want to wait out the random queue any longer) and wish there was a better system in place.

There are enough stories of people waiting ages only to find that their order was never properly placed/lodged - given that the order process sits in one state for ages, I would touch base with support just to confirm that it's all on track.

Ordered M3S kit, orange, txt bed, 9 May.

Shipped on 12 June.

Take the google doc with a pinch of salt, you can't be sure if people are forgetting to update it once they receive their printer.

RE: Has anyone received any orders from late April

A Prusa CSR just emailed me that my order will go out the end of next week or the week of June 22.  This what I estimated it to be after first seeing the spreadsheet.

I am used to dealing with lead times stretching out.  There was a bridgeport type mill I ordered a few years back in December with a lead time of six weeks.  It was built by a high quality Taiwan manufacturer and rebadged by a US importer.  This was another pay up front deal.  The importer thought he could sell enough mills to fill a shipping container pretty quickly.  That stretched out way longer than he thought. I didn't get my mill until August of the following year.  The mill was everything I thought it would be and soon forgot about how long the wait was.
