RE: Has anyone received any orders from late April

@cmx

I think you have not been reading the threads.  People post things like Prusa is ripping me off.  We can agree to disagree.

I am only recommending that people primarily contact support for complaints and shipping questions.  The forum is not a great place to illustrate their concerns.  Sure post it here if you want, but I doubt it is gonna get you the desired effect.

[...] Yeah this too. Not sure why a simple thread with people discussing their orders got like this.

There are a few historical flare ups that the mods have cleaned up. 🙂

I can understand the frustration. It's just when the "somebody who ordered after me got theirs AND THAT'S NOT FAIR" starts up ... and drones on and on ... that I get exasperated. Lots of stuff goes on behind the scenes that Prusa is not obligated to explain. Given what's going on, I'm glad they're looking after their employees, community and world health in that order of priority. I can pay AliExpress extra for priority tracking (heh). Prusa should offer the same service. If you really care, you can pay for the added overhead. Otherwise, relax.

That is not helpful.  Name calling result in an instant loss of any discussion.

I would agree with the priority tracking.

Ahh ok. If other threads have had people saying that, or mods have removed posts from this thread that's another thing. I have not seen those.

RE: Has anyone received any orders from late April

I was expecting now that things are starting to "open up" (at least where I am), time to delivery would start to shorten.  It seems the opposite is actually happening according to the spreadsheet.  Are supply chains just taking time to refill, or are a lot of places still not coming out of lockdown?  Or maybe something else entirely - like increased demand - is causing the delay to trend up.

Over the past 30 days it looks like the time to ship has increased by almost  a day, and in a pretty straight line.  Do you think that trend will continue or change?  And if so, which way?

I just enjoy thinking about the data in that spreadsheet to pass the time while a wait. 🙂

Not sure about Europe, but it's still hard to get things from China in the USA. Even though regions are starting to open, they are not necessarily opening up to China yet. And when they do imagine the backlog of shipments Chinese factories will have.

Like I am into custom computer keyboards. I am in a group buy from a guy from Hong Kong, he has been trying to ship to the US for over a month and the Hong Kong post office will not accept any of his packages. I also ordered some stabilizers from a Chinese company 3 weeks ago and nothing yet. I ordered another set from a USA based company and got them in 2 days.

In California right now we are experiencing the biggest spike of the virus yet, so it's worse than it has ever been here. But even when it is over, I think it will take a long time for things to normalize.

I think a big part of it is the critical path involved in delivering a finished product. A part assembled in Prague requires parts from UK, those parts may require components or raw materials for elsewhere. All of it has to go into a box from one source and foam from another. None can progress until the ever preceding step in the chain has delivered. A short delay gets amplified, compounded with shipping logistics, customs & tariffs and inventory issues. Reminds me of the situation in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where a flight full of passengers was stuck in limbo for years awaiting the automated delivery of lemon-scented towelettes. So much of this is invisible while the shelves are stocked, but once the on-hand inventory is depleted, it takes a while to fill the chain back up.

Being in one of the parts of the US hit early on, it's disheartening to now be just starting to emerge from the worst of it, only to watch the same sad scene play out elsewhere. Even waiting for parts from another part of the same country can introduce supply chain problems.

My printer finally arrived this morning. 2 days from Prague to Chicago is not bad. About to start E-axis...

I apologize to anyone I offended.  I can be abrupt and blunt.  Sometimes what is clear a evident to me is not conveyed as well in a post.  We need to communicate our concerns through the chat and email or Prusa may not know them.  I have voiced mine over the last few years.  They have resulted in some change (I think).  I used to post them on the forum and found that it was just frustrating to me.

At the start I was very upset that the communication was not proactive and upfront.  I have grown to understand and accept the business practices. After comparing printers, I decided it was worth the wait and quirks.

Enjoy your printers!

Be sure to read the bit about lubricating the linear bearings carefully. You might want to search the forums on this topic a bit before final assembly. Other than that, have fun with it!

I received by shipment notification today.  I ordered an assembled MK3S (orange/black)  with the PEI sheet and nothing else on April 22(9 weeks from order to shipment).  FedEx says delivery on Monday, June 29th.  I am in the USA (Colorado).  I will update the spreadsheet immediately.

@bobstro

Yeah I had seen this being recommended by several people. Soaked them in 99% IPA and gave a fresh packing with Super Lube. This definitely was worth the 7 week wait. Built it just over 9 hours got my z dialed in and she’s cranking out some awesome test prints.
I know I had been pretty vocal on here about my dislike of their shipping practices but seeing this thing print the way it is has got me considering the MMU and the Mini as well. So for those of you out there that are stressed about not getting your printer in a timely manner just know when you get it your mood will improve. This printer in stealth mode is super silent. It moves fast (compared to my Ender 3 Pro) and without a ton of work the prints are coming out damn near perfect.

Package showed up today, one day shy of 10 weeks from order to delivery (kit w/MMU).

Though, the last week is DHL's problem - 16,000kms in 3 days, then 7 days stuck in admin purgotory while they constantly lost records of my customs payment, screwed up shipping instructions and gave me the customer service runaround (either through ignorance or dishonesty). It's just a pity that all the logistics companies are as bad as each other - great when they work, but impossible to deal with when things go wrong.

Just got my shipping notification this morning. 3-4 week lead time became 51 days. Still, excited to finally see its on its way! I was worried that since the spring steel sheets are out of stock at the Prusa store, and since the MK3S kit I ordered had a spring steel sheet that I'd be waiting for quite awhile yet. Thankfully that wasn't the case. I'll update the spreadsheet.

Mine just shipped too! So happy, I had sent a support e-mail on Tuesday night asking if there was any issues. When I got an e-mail I was sure it was just a reply to that, but it was shipping! 🙂

Orange Kit - Both Sheets - 2 extra Prusament.

Placed May 6th - Shipped Jun 26th.

Now I just have to hope DHL does not screw me over somehow. 🙂

Are you going to assemble and install the MMU right away?  Curious because I ordered the same combo in mid may, but the MMU didn't arrive at the same time.  I've been printing successfully and I'm worried the MMU will screw up a good thing.  I think we hear feedback predominantly from people with bad experiences, so I'd love to hear from someone that just received the latest model.  Hopefully you report all green lights 🙂

@smoking_rubber

In the next week or so - I didn't really get it for multi-material prints though, I got it so I don't need to change filaments between prints since I've got a project that uses some nylon, some PETG and some TPU single-material parts. But will definitely test it out on some smaller stuff and report back.
