Budget PLA filament for the UK

I recently posted a request for experience of UK available filament and with the invaluable help of contributors I finally settled for rigid ink based on personal experience, (sadly Prusament is not currently sold in UK and has to be shipped from Europe).. Sometimes circumstances do not require quality filament but not at the cost of increased failure rate. I am particularly looking for a low cost filament for proof prints. I am not worried by colour or finish but do not want a filament that constantly fails for no particular reason. Increased fails makes any filament not cost effective owing to waste. Has anyone any recommendations for a reliable budget PLA or is this a contradiction in terms

I've had a lot of success with Technology Outlet filament from Amazon. Its around £15 a 1kg roll for the basic PLA.

I've had upwards of 12 rolls in various colours (black, Silver, grey, christmas green, brown) now and all print failures have been down to me screwing up rather than the material.
I'm printing at 210/60 with my mk3 (although I have to have the doors open on my enclosure).

Slight word of warning though, buy it from amazon and not direct from the company. Both times I ordered direct they screwed up the contents of the order and I had the hassle of having to send it back. When fulfilled via amazon there has been zero problems and it arrives very quickly. Seems at least Amazon staff know how to pick a packing list lol.

I had heard brilliant reviews but recently the reviewers are saying the filament has changed and not for the better! Have you bought any recently and have you found some colours perform better than others? I am not worried about colour, just reliability

Sunlu or ENotePad are also good for PLA, and also available from Amazon. I use 210/50 with Sunlu and 205/55 with ENotePad. Sunlu also does PLA+.

Enotepad PLA are presently doing 3x0.5Kg reels for £25. or 1kg reel for £14.77 (not all colours). They also do PETG.

Sunlu PLA 1kg reel for £19 - £20. They also do PLA+, PETG+ and ABS+.

I've am also using Technology Outlet PLA, but it was purchased in May 2018.

I have had some light grey recently, I've been using it while prototyping models as the grey is good at showing up details. It seems the same as the previous colours I've used. I did notice that the exterior packaging has changed though so its certainly possible that the filament supplier they use has also changed.

Thanks Neophyl, please let me know whether quality does change, I and others would be very interested in your experience. Your comments on the use of grey for proof prints has also been taken on board, very useful and I will be buying some grey.

I bought a reel of Sunlu transparent PLA+ and was very happy with the experience. I had to run off a vacuum adapter for my thicknesser/planer and it worked a treat, well impressed.
