Best Budget DIY kit for upgrading, tinkering and learning.

While there is no doubt that a prusa is very difficult to beat, I have been considering buying a cheap 2nd printer kit for tinkering and modifying, I really don't want to be messing with the MK3 when it's built and working, will just be left to run.

However, I have lots of time on my hands just now, so was considering a 2nd project, which should also assist with learning how to maintain, and ultimately Improve on any design flaws that are normally present in these budget designs.

So, my thought was to start up a thread and discuss which budget 3d printer kits everyone has found to be good value, and a good solid base for upgrades.  I am rather new to 3D printing, and have always found the best way to learn new skills, and how something works is to resolve problems, and learn by your mistakes.

There are many, many options, and price ranges, I was thinking under £200 but am open to all suggestions.

One today that peaked my interest, and was the fuel to start this thread is this:

A 330x330x400mm 3d printer for £182.59 delivered, granted is does seem to get some poor reviews but seems good value for that amount of cash.

I looked but could not find a similar thread.

Would appreciate the benefit of your experience.

Tank you very much!

I'd suggest joining in on any of the 3D printing groups on Reddit or other locations. Setting up a support discussion for another vendor's products on a site Prusa pays for is a bit tacky for one, and you're likely to get a far wider spectrum of inputs on a less Prusa-centric board.

I'm on a few Artillery and generic 3D printing subreddits myself.

@bobstro

Earlier today I was reading other threads on here regarding support on prusa clones and discussing 3d scanners from other manufacturers, at the time, setting up a discussion on using a cheap kit as a learning tool did not seem unreasonable.

I meant no disrespect by posting this on here, but point taken.
