Prusa on sailboat?

I am curious if anybody can share their experience of using Prusa printers on a sailboat? On a moving, not stationary, sailboat? How much movement and healing it can take before print fails?

RE: Prusa on sailboat?

I have no direct experience...

are we talking Mk3 series, or Mini series printer? FDM printers

(I think SL1S would have issues as the tide would come in and go out as the boat heals and the resin sloshes...)

If you fasten the Prusa  printer frame in position on the shelf, and provide a secure filament feed solution, preferably with a reverse bowden feed
I suspect healing will have little impact...

I believe the standard filament holder would be unsatisfactory. as there is nothing to stop the filament spool moving on the holder, and perhaps falling off...

if you could mount the spool on a shaft with some sort of bearings to allow rotation, but deny side to side movement, you should be good to go.

If you find the boat pounding into waves you may have more of an issue...
